A customer email reproduced by 9to5Mac said that the price of the myPlan lines listed in the notice would rise by $3 per month per line, “no sooner than” February 20, 2025. That wording does not establish that every five-line account was affected in the same way or that every customer saw the change on that exact date.
What Verizon’s reported myPlan change said
In a January 17, 2025 report, 9to5Mac reproduced text from a Verizon customer email: “No sooner than 2.20.25, our myPlan multiline discount for accounts with 5 or more lines will be reduced. This means the price for the myPlan lines below will increase by $3/mo per line.” The quoted notice is the basis for the reported change; the original email was not independently available in the sources reviewed.
The report describes a reduction in the multi-line discount, with a $3 monthly increase for each myPlan line named in the recipient’s notice. It does not provide a full eligibility table or establish that every account with five or more lines, or every line on such an account, had identical terms. The 9to5Mac report also discusses an increase affecting older New Verizon Plan accounts; that was a separate change, not the myPlan notice described here.
When the increase was scheduled to begin
The email wording was “no sooner than” February 20, 2025. That is a start timing stated in the reproduced notice, not confirmation that every customer’s bill changed on February 20. An individual bill’s timing could depend on the account’s billing cycle; check the notice and bills for the dates that apply to your account.

How to check whether your account was affected
- Find the original Verizon notice and identify the myPlan lines it lists. The reported $3 monthly increase applies to the lines named in that notice, not automatically to every line on every account with five or more lines.
- Compare bills from before and after the stated start period, taking the billing-cycle dates into account. Look for changes to the affected lines’ recurring plan charges.
- Review each line’s plan and any account discounts, Auto Pay status, promotional credits, optional perks, and taxes and fees. These can affect the total bill, and the reproduced notice does not specify how every account’s other terms interact with the discount reduction.
- If the bill does not match the notice, contact Verizon with the email and the relevant bills so the company can explain the account-specific calculation.
Verizon’s live myPlan page is useful for current plan details, but it is not a historical February 2025 rate card and does not confirm the rules for the reported increase.
Why current myPlan prices do not explain the 2025 bill change
As displayed on October 8, 2026, Verizon’s plan page shows four-line examples of $57.50 per line for Unlimited Ultimate, $42.50 for Unlimited Plus, and $27.50 for Unlimited Welcome with a specified offer credit and Auto Pay assumptions. The page also describes standard rates for four or more lines before qualifying credits, requires Auto Pay and paper-free billing for certain discounts, and says taxes and fees are additional. Those current examples have different timing and conditions from the 2025 notice; they should not be used to reconstruct what an account was charged then.

Verizon introduced myPlan in May 2023 as a customizable wireless plan structure, according to the FCC’s 2024 report on mobile wireless competition. That background explains the plan family, but does not independently verify the terms or eligibility of the 2025 discount change.
Keep later Verizon price notices separate
Verizon’s current Unlimited Ultimate FAQ lists a Disney bundle perk adjustment effective September 17, 2026. That later notice concerns an optional perk and is separate from the 2025 myPlan multi-line discount change.

If you are weighing a carrier change
Do not compare carriers using a single advertised monthly price. Compare the household’s complete monthly cost, coverage where each person uses service, included features, taxes and fees, device installment balances, and promotional credits. The available information does not establish a best alternative carrier or a specific switching price; those depend on your locations, lines, devices, and eligibility for offers.
