For Metrobank current or savings account enrollment, the bank labels the field “13-Digit Account Number.” You can find your full number on a deposit slip or passbook, if you have one. Metrobank also uses the number in account validation and some transfer workflows—but it is an identifier, not a password or an authorization code.
Is a Metrobank account number 13 digits?
Metrobank’s official enrollment guide labels the current or savings account field “13-Digit Account Number.” Its online-banking FAQ also tells customers to enter a 13-digit account number when adding an account. This supports 13 digits for those documented workflows; it does not establish that every Metrobank account type or service has identical rules.
A 2019 Metrobank business enrollment guide also says account numbers consist of 13 digits and shows a grouped example. Because that example is historical and in a business guide, do not assume its grouping is the format for every account today.
How do I find my full Metrobank account number?
Check a deposit slip or passbook
Metrobank’s signup FAQ says the full account number can be found on your deposit slip or passbook, if available. Check an existing record rather than relying on a digit pattern or trying to infer missing digits.

If you do not have either record
Use a logged-in Metrobank channel or contact the bank through the contact details published on its official website. Do not send the number to third-party sites or social accounts, or disclose it to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Metrobank uses the number to validate account ownership in at least one online process, so treat it as sensitive financial information even though it is not itself a password or OTP.
Why is Metrobank asking for my account number?
Metrobank’s documented uses include several different tasks:
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
- Adding an account: Its digital enrollment guide has a required “13-Digit Account Number” field. The Metrobank Online FAQ likewise says to enter the number and create an alias when adding an account.
- Updating contact information: Metrobank says the number is used to validate account ownership. The process separately uses an OTP to confirm access to the updated email address or mobile number.
- Sending a Metrobank-to-Metrobank transfer: The bank’s transfer guide shows a recipient field that accepts a mobile number or a 13-digit account number.
- Some historical hotline workflows: A 2021 advisory described a self-service hotline process for certain converted-account types that could request the account number, date of birth, and an OTP sent to the registered mobile. This is dated guidance for specific circumstances; confirm current options with Metrobank.
These examples show why a legitimate Metrobank workflow may need the identifier. They do not mean the number alone proves identity or authorizes access or a transaction.
How should I protect the number?
Metrobank warns customers not to share credentials or security codes with unknown or unverified sources and not to click unverified links. Its fraud guidance states: “Remember, Metrobank will NOT initiate calls, SMS, emails, or chats to ask for your bank account details.” Treat an unexpected request as suspicious; navigate to Metrobank’s official site or app yourself to verify a request.
Rank #3
Metrobank also describes an Email Security Zone at the top of a Metrobank email. In that area, the account-number detail is shown as the last four digits, alongside the sender, recipient, and last four digits of the registered mobile number. This is a feature for checking that personalized email area, not permission to reply with your full account number. If the details are wrong or missing, Metrobank directs customers to contact the bank.
Never give passwords, PINs, OTPs, or CVVs to an unknown or unverified source. If you suspect fraud, use the official Contact Center or email listed on Metrobank’s contact page; contact details can change.
Rank #4
What if the account number does not work?
If signup returns an error, Metrobank’s app help advises checking details such as your name, date of birth, and contact number, and says the account used for signup should be active.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
- Recheck the information entered against your existing bank record, including the full account number.
- Confirm the account is active and review other signup details, such as your name, date of birth, and contact number.
- If the error continues, contact Metrobank through its official website or app. Do not conclude from the number’s length alone that an account is invalid; Metrobank’s published guidance does not establish every account-type or enrollment exception.
