What the UKPSC 2024 recruitment covered
The recruitment examination was for the Uttarakhand Home Department and covered Sub Inspector (Civil Police/Intelligence), Fire Station Second Officer, and Platoon Commander, Male (PAC/IRB) posts. The notice advertised 222 vacancies, according to Scroll.in’s January 31, 2024 report.
These were distinct roles, not interchangeable names for one post. The original headline’s phrase, “Apply for 222 SI and other posts till February 20,” referred to the first announced closing date.
Why the deadline changed
- January 31, 2024: The application period opened, with February 20 reported as the original deadline.
- February 20, 2024: The original window was due to close.
- March 2024: UKPSC reopened registration. A later Scroll.in report said candidates could apply until March 22, 2024: UKPSC SI recruitment 2024 application window reopens for 222 posts; now apply till March 22.
The March 22 date was the later reported opportunity to apply. It has also passed, so neither date is a current application deadline.

Careers360 reported the following breakdown and age range. These are secondary-source details; applicants should treat the original UKPSC notification as authoritative for eligibility and vacancy particulars.
