UPSC released the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) 2024 e-Admit Card on 5 July 2024, ahead of the exam held on 14 July. The 2024 cycle is over, so its download route is not a way to obtain an admit card for a current exam. Candidates checking a later cycle should use UPSC’s current examination and e-Admit Card pages.
When was the UPSC CMS 2024 admit card released?
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) uploaded the CMS 2024 e-Admit Card on 5 July 2024. The examination notice, dated 10 April 2024, scheduled the exam for 14 July 2024 and said the card would be available online rather than sent by post. UPSC’s press notice confirmed that the cards had been uploaded to its online portal.
The exam cycle has concluded. UPSC’s marksheet archive records an upload date of 25 November 2024 and availability through 25 December 2029. For an upcoming cycle, check the relevant year’s information on UPSC’s website and its current online portal; do not treat a 2024 page or link as a current download route.
How candidates accessed the 2024 e-Admit Card
At the time of release, candidates used UPSC’s online portal and their identifying details to retrieve the card. Contemporary reports described entering registration details or a Registration ID or Roll Number, along with date of birth. Those reports document the 2024 process; the 2024 route is historical and should not be used as guidance for another exam year.

The download destination was UPSC’s portal, not a third-party mirror. A current CMS e-Admit Card page for a later year does not establish the location or steps for the 2024 card.
What candidates had to bring to the examination venue
- A printed copy of the e-Admit Card. UPSC stated: “The candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Card at the allotted Venue for appearing at the Examination.”
- The photo identity document whose number was mentioned on the e-Admit Card, for each session.
UPSC said there would be no paper admit card issued by post. Candidates were also instructed to keep the e-Admit Card until the final results were declared.
Entry times, venue and photograph issues
Candidates could sit only at the venue shown on their own e-Admit Card. Entry closed 30 minutes before the scheduled start: 9:00 a.m. for the forenoon session and 1:30 p.m. for the afternoon session.
If the photograph on the e-Admit Card was unclear, or did not show the candidate’s name and the date, UPSC required candidates to bring a photo ID, two passport-size photographs bearing the name and date of the photograph, and an undertaking. Candidates were asked to report discrepancies promptly to [email protected].

Does an e-Admit Card confirm eligibility?
No. UPSC’s examination notice said that issuing the e-Admit Card did not amount to final clearance of eligibility. Candidature remained provisional until the prescribed verification was completed.
