The fight and the result
UFC 306, also marketed as Riyadh Season Noche UFC, was held at Sphere in Las Vegas. Bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley defended against Merab Dvalishvili in the main event. UFC’s official result lists Dvalishvili as the winner by unanimous decision, with scorecards of 49-46, 48-47 and 48-47, and Dvalishvili took the bantamweight title.
The official result page states: “Merab Dvalishvili defeats Sean O’Malley by unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47).” The Nevada Athletic Commission’s event record confirms the event and the outcome, but it does not list either fighter’s purse.
Note on spelling: the opponent’s first name is often written as “Meran” in headlines and search queries. UFC’s official event material uses “Merab,” which is the spelling used in this article.

Yahoo Sports reported that O’Malley received $42,000 and Dvalishvili received $32,000 under UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance. These amounts describe one category of payment. They do not show what either fighter was paid in total for the bout, and they should not be presented as a purse.

The BetMGM payout estimate
BetMGM published an estimate of $3.2 million for O’Malley’s payout at UFC 306. The estimate comes from a sportsbook, not from UFC, the commission or the fighter’s camp. It has not been confirmed as a purse or as earnings. No comparable estimate for Dvalishvili was found in the material reviewed, and other third-party estimate pages use methods that could not be reconciled with one another.
Event gate and attendance
UFC and Sphere Entertainment Co. reported a gate of $22 million and a sold-out crowd of 16,024. These numbers describe the event as a whole. They are not a measure of what either fighter earned.

- Excellent Leather Construction: Enduring and long-lasting leather material for superior performance.

Why a total purse cannot be confirmed
- UFC has not published a total purse for either fighter in the sources reviewed.
- The compliance payments are a single category. A fighter’s total pay for a bout can include other components, and those components are not itemized for either fighter in the available reports.
- The Nevada Athletic Commission record verifies the event and the result. It does not disclose purses.
- No on-record statement from either fighter, a manager or a UFC representative about total UFC 306 earnings was found in the reports reviewed.
How to read a future fighter payout claim
The same checks apply to any UFC payout figure, whether it concerns this bout or a later one.
- Identify the source. An official disclosure from UFC or a commission carries more weight than a sportsbook, media outlet or aggregator estimate.
- Check the label. A figure described as a compliance payment, an estimate or a gate is not a total purse, even if a headline treats it as one.
- Look for the method. An estimate without a stated basis cannot be checked against anything.
- Do not add categories together. Combining a compliance payment with a third-party estimate does not produce a verified total.
For UFC 306, the most accurate answer is that the total earnings of both fighters remain unverified, with one compliance payment reported for each fighter and one third-party estimate reported for O’Malley.
