Where the $26 million estimate comes from
Celebrity Net Worth lists Burrell’s net worth as $26 million on its 2022 page, and realestate.com.au repeated that estimate in 2025. Neither source presents a personal balance sheet or audited calculation supporting the exact amount. The figure is best understood as a commonly published estimate, not a confirmed measure of what Burrell owns after debts.

Reported pay by the final season
realestate.com.au reported in 2025 that adult cast members, including Burrell, earned US$500,000 per episode by the final season of Modern Family. Celebrity Net Worth also reports $500,000 per episode. These are media-reported salary figures, not a contract record or an accounting of total compensation.
An earlier, lower figure
In 2014, The Independent reported the cast was thought to earn about $175,000 per episode, with a later increase expected. That report describes an earlier point in the show and includes a forecast; it should not be treated as Burrell’s current pay rate. The Independent’s 2014 report provides that dated context.

What reported property ownership can—and cannot—tell you
Realtor.com reported that Burrell paid $4.225 million for a Los Angeles home in December 2016 and that he and his wife owned a home in Salt Lake City. Those reports offer historical asset context, not a current valuation or an estimate of equity. They do not establish present market value, mortgage balances, ownership shares, or whether the properties are still held. Realtor.com’s 2017 report covers the Los Angeles purchase.
The 2025 realestate.com.au article also says Burrell and his wife co-own Beer Bar and Bar X. That is a point-in-time report, not confirmation of current ownership or the businesses’ value.

Why reported earnings and assets do not verify net worth
Net worth is the value of assets minus liabilities. An episode salary or a home’s purchase price supplies only one part of that picture. Taxes, agents’ and other professional fees, living expenses, mortgage debt, residual income, investments, business interests, and co-ownership can all affect the result. The sources reviewed do not provide a complete accounting of those items for Burrell.
Burrell is best known for playing Phil Dunphy on ABC’s Modern Family. The Television Academy lists the series and other screen credits, while a Los Angeles Times profile notes his film work alongside television. These sources establish a career spanning television and film, but do not quantify his total earnings. See the Television Academy biography and the Los Angeles Times profile.

How to read the estimate
- Use the attribution: Celebrity Net Worth publishes the $26 million estimate; realestate.com.au repeated it.
- Keep salary figures in context: $500,000 per episode is reported for the final season, while the 2014 report described about $175,000 and anticipated a later increase.
- Do not treat property purchase prices as wealth: the 2016 price does not reveal current value, debt, or equity.
- Do not infer a total: multiplying episode pay by episodes or adding home purchase prices would omit major income and liability information.
