Why FanDuel commercials cover more than one kind of product
FanDuel says it launched in Edinburgh in 2009 as a daily fantasy sports service. FanDuel announced its first “Kick of Destiny” campaign on January 9, 2023. Rob Gronkowski attempted a live field goal during a Super Bowl LVII television commercial. The larger promotion followed his training through the playoffs and included digital and in-person activity. The promotion was tied to that campaign year: FanDuel said customers who placed a qualifying Super Bowl bet would share $10 million in free bets if Gronkowski made the kick. That was a historical campaign mechanic, not a statement of current offer terms.

Kick of Destiny 2 (2024): the missed kick becomes the premise
Announced on January 9, 2024, the sequel framed Gronkowski’s return as a redemption attempt after his previous miss. Kay Adams was named commentator, John Cena played a character hoping Gronkowski would miss again, and Carl Weathers was named as his coach. The sequel also added a viewer prediction mechanic: FanDuel said eligible customers who made a free Make or Miss pick in the Sportsbook app and picked correctly would share $10 million in bonus bets. Those details describe the 2024 promotion only; they should not be read as current eligibility or offer terms.

FanDuel’s 2021 announcement said golfer Jordan Spieth would appear in national television commercials and represent its golf products.
