4 Crypto Projects to Watch in 2026: BlockDAG, Sui, World and TON

BlockDAG, Sui, World and TON have different market theses—and different unresolved questions. Compare their designs, token facts and risks without treating project claims as proof of performance or future returns.

BlockDAG, Sui, World and TON pursue four different ideas: a proof-of-work network organized around a directed acyclic graph, an object-centered Layer 1, identity and uniqueness infrastructure, and apps and digital assets connected to Telegram. Their designs may influence the altcoin market, but the available evidence does not establish that any will outperform or “redefine” it. This is a guide to what each project is trying to do, what its published information supports, and what remains uncertain—not a price forecast or a buy recommendation.

The original title refers to 2025, which has passed. This updated watchlist reflects project materials available as of October 8, 2026; market prices, current circulating supplies and synchronized performance comparisons are not established here.

How the four projects compare

Project Core proposition Token or native-coin information established here Key issue to assess
BlockDAG (BDAG) Proof-of-work Layer 1 using a directed acyclic graph and promoting parallel processing (BlockDAG Technology page). Maximum supply of 150 billion BDAG; the project lists allocations of 50 billion for existing holders, 50 billion for mining rewards, 25 billion for presale and 25 billion for the ecosystem (BlockDAG tokenomics page, accessed 2026). Conflicting context about network status: official milestone reporting versus an unaffiliated community report of a chain divergence.
Sui (SUI) Delegated proof-of-stake Layer 1 with object-centered storage and a design that can schedule transactions with non-overlapping inputs in parallel (Sui documentation). Maximum supply of 10 billion SUI; current circulation and forthcoming unlocks are not stated by the cited token-schedule information. Whether the architecture translates into useful performance and applications under real-world conditions.
World / Worldcoin (WLD) Identity and financial-network design combining World ID, World Chain and WLD (World whitepaper, versioned March 24, 2026). Token utility and supply figures are not stated in the cited whitepaper material summarized here. Biometric privacy, consent, data handling, access to verification and regulation by jurisdiction.
TON (Toncoin / Gram) Network and ecosystem for apps and digital assets with Telegram integration, including mini-apps, bots and names (TON official site). The current English TON page identifies Gram as the native coin for fees, validation, voting and other network functions, and also uses the labels Gram and Toncoin. Supply figures are not stated in the cited material. Whether Telegram-linked distribution produces sustained TON activity; Telegram’s overall audience is not a measure of TON users.

These are not interchangeable bets. A network’s architecture, a project’s own launch or activity claims, and independently verified adoption are different kinds of evidence. The project sources cited below describe designs and milestones; they do not provide a synchronized basis for comparing token prices, market capitalizations, returns or actual network performance.

BlockDAG: a DAG-based proof-of-work network with a chain-status question

What the project proposes

BlockDAG describes BDAG as the token of a proof-of-work Layer 1 that uses a directed acyclic graph structure and promotes parallel processing. Its published tokenomics list a 150-billion maximum supply across four stated allocations: 50 billion for existing holders, 50 billion for mining rewards, 25 billion for presale and 25 billion for the ecosystem. These are figures published by the project, not independent confirmation of circulating supply, distribution or scarcity.

What the milestone reports do—and do not—establish

BlockDAG’s official mainnet roadmap reports mainnet and token-generation milestones in February 2026, followed by trading and listing milestones beginning in March 2026. Separately, a community site that says it is unaffiliated with BlockDAG Network published a September 30, 2026 account of a chain divergence on July 15, 2026, and says the community and BlockDAG Network have used separate RPC infrastructure since then. That report has not been independently resolved here. It is not independent confirmation that the official chain is compromised, nor does the official roadmap alone resolve the divergence claim.

For a reader assessing BDAG, the distinction matters: a published launch milestone does not by itself establish that exchanges, users and independent observers are following the same continuous chain. Chain identity and continuity should be checked against independent on-chain records before relying on either account.

Sui: object-centered execution and a fixed long-run cap

Why its architecture is distinct

Sui documentation describes a delegated proof-of-stake Layer 1 built around objects that have globally unique IDs and ownership metadata. Because a transaction can specify its inputs, the design can allow transactions that do not share inputs to be scheduled in parallel. This explains the architectural rationale; it is not a measured result showing Sui is faster than a particular competitor under live network load.

What the supply cap tells you

The Sui Foundation’s tokenomics announcement, dated May 24, 2022, set a long-run maximum supply of 10 billion SUI. The current official token-schedule page also describes that cap and says circulation develops according to a release schedule tied to Foundation allocations. A maximum supply is not the same as the amount currently circulating: the current circulating amount and upcoming unlocks are not established by the cited information here.

World: identity infrastructure makes privacy and access central

How the project describes the system

World’s versioned whitepaper presents World ID, World Chain and WLD as components of a global identity and financial network. In that description, Orb-based verification checks biometric uniqueness, and a proof of uniqueness is written to the blockchain. This is the project’s account of its protocol, not an independent assessment of its privacy safeguards or the results of its verification process.

Questions to ask before treating identity as an investment thesis

For World, the identity proposition cannot be evaluated separately from how people are asked to participate and how their information is handled. Relevant questions include what data is collected or retained, how consent works, whether verification is accessible to people who cannot or do not want to use an Orb, and how the system is treated under local rules. The available cited material does not establish current regulator findings or Orb availability and operating status in each jurisdiction.

World ID’s identity design should not be read as proof that a user is safer, and the cited description does not establish that WLD is required for every use of World ID. The token’s market narrative and the identity protocol are related project themes, but they are not the same thing.

TON: Telegram integration is a distribution thesis, not an adoption count

What the ecosystem includes

TON’s official pages describe an ecosystem integrated with Telegram that includes mini-apps, bots, digital assets, names and payment-related features. The current English TON page identifies Gram as the native coin used for network fees, validation, voting and other functions, while its presentation also uses the labels Gram and Toncoin. Because terminology may differ across listings and venues, check the current ticker and asset name wherever a transaction is made.

How to read activity and reach claims

The TON site displays dynamic counts for network activity, including validators, nodes, contracts, wallets and transactions, and makes claims about Telegram’s user reach. Those figures are published by TON and have not been independently validated here; they should be treated as project-reported metrics, not as a like-for-like measure of active users or adoption. Telegram’s overall user base is not equivalent to the number of people actively using TON.

The investment question is therefore not simply whether Telegram is large. It is whether Telegram-linked access leads to durable use of TON apps and network functions, and whether that use persists beyond any individual app or promotional cycle. The cited information does not independently answer that question.

A practical way to evaluate the watchlist

Rather than rank these projects on a single promise, assess each against evidence suited to its thesis:

  • For BlockDAG: establish which chain is recognized by independent explorers and counterparties, and whether continuity across the reported divergence can be verified.
  • For Sui: distinguish the object model’s parallel-execution rationale from measured performance and sustained application use; check current circulation and scheduled releases separately from the 10-billion cap.
  • For World: assess consent, data handling, access to verification and jurisdiction-specific regulatory treatment alongside the project’s identity use case.
  • For TON: separate project-reported activity counts and Telegram’s broad reach from verified, sustained use of TON services.

For all four, confirm current token terms and network status from up-to-date sources before making a financial decision. None of the cited project materials alone establishes future demand, token returns or a reliable basis for choosing one asset over another.
