Its announcement did not name the buyer. A January 2025 report citing Bloomberg sources identified private equity firm Haveli Investments as the buyer, but that identity was not included in Take-Two’s public announcement.
What Take-Two sold—and when
Take-Two’s fiscal second-quarter 2025 results, published November 6, 2024, disclosed the decision to sell Private Division. The company’s 2025 SEC filing later dated the sale to October 2024. The transaction covered rights to “substantially all” of Private Division’s live and unreleased titles—not necessarily every title associated with the label. Who bought Private Division?
Take-Two did not identify the buyer in its announcement. In January 2025, Gematsu relayed Bloomberg reporting that named Austin-based private equity firm Haveli Investments. The report also said former Annapurna Interactive staff would distribute the portfolio’s titles through a new company funded by Haveli. Those details are attributed to Bloomberg’s sources, rather than presented as a buyer identity confirmed in Take-Two’s announcement. (Gematsu’s report)

Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said the company made the sale to focus resources on its core and mobile businesses over the long term.
