The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG 2019 result on 5 June 2019. Its release reported that 797,042 candidates qualified. This is a historical result notice; NTA’s archive confirms the announcement, but the reviewed official pages do not establish whether individual 2019 scorecards can still be retrieved.
When was the NEET UG 2019 result announced?
NTA declared the result on 5 June 2019. The exam had been conducted on 5 May and 20 May 2019, according to the agency’s press release dated 5 June 2019. The NTA Notice Board Archive lists the 2019 result, result press release and final answer key as separate records.
How many candidates registered, appeared and qualified?
NTA reported the following participation figures for the 2019 examination:
| Measure | NTA figure for 2019 |
|---|---|
| Registered | 1,519,375 candidates |
| Appeared | 1,410,755 candidates |
| Qualified | 797,042 candidates |
The figures are from NTA’s 2019 result release; they are historical totals, not current-year NEET statistics.

What did marks, percentile and All India Rank mean?
These measures describe different aspects of the result. Marks are the candidate’s score; percentile is a relative measure used in the result process; and All India Rank (AIR) is the candidate’s position in the national merit ranking. NTA said the All India merit list was prepared using percentile determined on the basis of the highest marks secured. Percentile is not the percentage of marks.
NTA listed Nalin Khandelwal at AIR 1 with 701 marks in 2019. This is the top rank reported for that exam, not a current-year benchmark.
Rank #2
What were the 2019 qualifying percentiles?
NTA’s release listed these qualifying criteria for the 2019 result. They are historical thresholds, not current NEET cutoffs.
| Category as stated by NTA | Qualifying percentile in 2019 |
|---|---|
| OTHERS | 50th percentile |
| OBC, SC and ST | 40th percentile |
| UR & PH | 45th percentile |
| OBC & PH, SC & PH, and ST & PH | 40th percentile |
These category labels and thresholds are reproduced from NTA’s 2019 press release; they should not be used to infer eligibility rules for another examination year.
Rank #3
Did qualifying NEET 2019 complete the admission process?
No. Qualification did not itself secure an MBBS or BDS seat. NTA’s 2019 release said the result was based on the qualifying criteria prescribed by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India, as well as information candidates submitted in their online application forms. It also instructed qualified candidates to complete further formalities with the relevant counselling authorities, including DGHS and state medical education directorates.
The release described NEET UG 2019 as being for MBBS/BDS admissions, subject to the institutions and exceptions specified in that document. Admission steps therefore depended on the applicable counselling authority and institution.
Rank #4
Can you still check an individual NEET UG 2019 scorecard?
The NTA archive confirms that a result notice was published, but the reviewed official pages do not confirm whether candidate-specific 2019 scorecards remain available online. NTA’s current NEET website is the official exam-site context; its existence should not be taken as confirmation that it provides access to 2019 candidate records. The government’s Press Information Bureau announcement also corroborates the result declaration date.
