Australian authorities warn that promotions using the name Quantum AI have been linked to fake investment-platform scams. There is no verified basis for calling it Australia’s “best trading platform,” and the available official information does not establish one current legal entity behind every site using that name. Treat any offer cautiously: verify the exact company and domain before sharing details or sending money.

What Australian authorities say about Quantum AI

Scamwatch and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), including the National Anti-Scam Centre, describe scam promotions using the Quantum AI name. The documented activity involves fake investment-platform promotions; it is not proof that every business or website with a similar name is the same operator.

ASIC reported that more than 5,530 fake investment-platform scam websites had been removed since July 2023. That is a category-wide takedown count, not a count of Quantum AI websites. ASIC also said it had coordinated removal of more than 7,300 phishing and investment-scam websites by its 2024 first-year-anniversary announcement; the release separately describes investment-platform, phishing-link and cryptocurrency-scam components. These figures show the scale of scam activity, not the legitimacy or performance of any particular service. ASIC’s takedown announcement.

In a 2024 release, ASIC and the National Anti-Scam Centre reported more than $8 million in losses and 400 Scamwatch reports in 2023 for online investment trading-platform scams. Those numbers cover the broader scam category and are not Quantum AI-specific. The joint ASIC and National Anti-Scam Centre warning.

How the reported scam pattern works

Scamwatch describes promotions that may use fake social-media ads, deepfake videos or fabricated news stories featuring celebrities or public figures. The promotion claims that an online platform uses artificial intelligence or quantum computing to generate high returns. A celebrity image, news-style page or technical claim is not proof of an endorsement or a genuine investment.

  1. A promotion captures attention. An ad or video leads to a signup form, often asking for contact details.
  2. A purported account manager makes contact. The person may urge the prospective investor to pay around $250 to access the platform and may direct them to download a cryptocurrency app.
  3. A dashboard displays apparent profits. Scamwatch says scammers may show small gains, and may even allow a small withdrawal, to build trust. Neither proves that the investment is real or that a larger withdrawal will be possible.
  4. More money is requested. After an initial payment, the person may be encouraged to deposit more.
  5. A withdrawal becomes difficult. When someone tries to withdraw a larger amount, scammers may demand fees or tax, or lock them out of the account.

These are tactics described in scam alerts, not verified features of a legitimate Quantum AI service. Scamwatch’s account of the pattern is in its 1 March 2024 alert on fake celebrity investment scams.

How to assess a specific Quantum AI offer

The name alone is not enough to verify an offer. Before engaging, identify the exact website domain and legal entity, then check whether the entity and the person contacting you are authorised for the financial service being offered. ASIC cautions that scammers can impersonate legitimate licensees, so independently confirm contact details using official records rather than relying on links or numbers supplied by the promoter.

  • Search ASIC’s Investor Alert List for the company, website and people involved.
  • Check ASIC’s Professional Registers for the relevant person or entity and confirm that the authorisation matches the service being offered.
  • Verify contact information independently. Contact a listed licensee using details you locate yourself, not details in an unsolicited message or promotional page.
  • Examine the payment and withdrawal terms. Be alert to pressure to deposit quickly, requests for extra payments to release funds, or claims that tax or fees must be paid to the promoter before withdrawal.
  • Ignore supposed proof based on popularity or performance. Celebrity appearances, news-looking pages, online reviews, dashboard balances and claims of high returns from AI or quantum computing do not establish that an investment is legitimate.

ASIC and Scamwatch provide guidance on checking an investment offer and spotting these warning signs. ASIC’s website-takedown release also discusses fake investment platforms and misleading promotions: read the release.

What to do if you have paid or shared information

  1. Contact your bank immediately if you transferred money or shared financial details. Ask what steps it can take to protect your accounts or attempt to stop or recover a payment.
  2. Report the incident to Scamwatch. Keep messages, payment records, website details and other relevant evidence to support your report.
  3. Do not pay additional sums to unlock a withdrawal. A further demand for tax or fees is one of the tactics described in the official scam warnings.

Scamwatch and ASIC set out these response steps in their Scamwatch alert and joint warning.

What the available evidence does not establish

The cited Australian warnings do not identify one current legal entity behind every Quantum AI-named website, verify the performance of a particular platform, or establish whether a specific service permits reliable withdrawals. Without the exact domain and legal entity, its current authorisation cannot be checked. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission separately warned on 8 May 2024 about suspected virtual-asset-related fraud involving an entity using the Quantum AI name, including suspected deepfake promotion and a misleading news website. That warning is additional regulator context, not proof about every similarly named site or a current Australian operator: SFC warning.
