Collectors who paid for Walmart+ and joined the reported Phantasmal Flames early-access drop in October 2025 complained of queue resets, long waits, errors and sold-out products. Some sought membership refunds, but a report of customer frustration—or a gift card offered to some customers—does not establish a general right to a refund. Walmart’s current terms say membership fees are generally non-refundable, subject to exceptions in the terms and applicable law.
What happened during the reported Phantasmal Flames drop?
In an October 10, 2025 report, PiunikaWeb described collectors joining a Walmart+ early-access queue for the Pokémon TCG Phantasmal Flames release. The report recounted complaints about queue resets, lengthy waits, page-not-found errors and products selling out. It also said some collectors demanded refunds for their Walmart+ memberships.
PiunikaWeb further reported claims that checkout limits allowed orders of as many as 99 units, and that some customers who contacted customer service received $25 gift cards. These details are reported claims and customer observations, not independently verified incident findings. The available sources do not establish how many customers were affected, whether bots were involved, how Walmart’s system operated, or whether the reported order quantity and compensation applied broadly. A sarcastic X post quoted by PiunikaWeb asked, “So you signed up for Walmart+ thinking you’d get early access to Pokemon cards?” PiunikaWeb attributed it to an unnamed user; it is not a Walmart statement.
Can you get a Walmart+ refund if a card drop fails?
Walmart’s official Walmart+ Membership Terms of Use, last updated September 28, 2026, state: “The Walmart+ Membership fee and any Plus Up Benefit fee is non-refundable except as expressly set forth in these Terms or as required by applicable law.” That is current general policy language, not a decision about the 2025 drop or any individual customer’s eligibility.

Whether a particular member qualifies for a refund depends on the applicable terms, circumstances and any relevant law. The report of refund demands does not show that every customer requested or received a refund, or that anyone was legally entitled to one. Check your account and the current terms for your own situation; contact Walmart Customer Care if you want to ask about a charge or remedy.
How to cancel Walmart+ and check your renewal
Under the current terms, members can cancel through their account or by calling Customer Care. Cancellation generally leaves membership benefits available until the end of the current term and prevents renewal if completed before that term ends. Cancellation is not the same as a refund: the terms’ general non-refundable rule still applies, subject to the stated exceptions.

- Sign in to your Walmart account and review your Walmart+ membership details, billing and next renewal date.
- Use the account’s cancellation option or call Walmart Customer Care to cancel.
- Save confirmation of the cancellation and check the account to make sure the renewal status reflects it.
- If you are requesting a refund or disputing a charge, explain the specific charge and circumstances to Customer Care and review the terms that apply to your membership.
Do not confuse the card drop with Walmart’s October Deals event
Walmart Corporate announced a separate broad Walmart Deals event for October 7–12, 2025, with a five-hour Walmart+ head start beginning October 6 at 7 p.m. ET. That announcement establishes the schedule for the general deals event; it does not verify the timing or operation of the Phantasmal Flames TCG drop described by PiunikaWeb.

Walmart’s current catalog includes Pokémon TCG products such as Elite Trainer Boxes and booster bundles, but catalog listings do not confirm that Phantasmal Flames is in stock. If you shop for a product, verify the set and format, seller identity, stock status and total delivered price on the listing. Availability and prices can change, and a current listing is not evidence of an equivalent remedy for a failed early-access attempt.
