POWERGRID’s recruitment drive for 1,543 Field Engineer and Field Supervisor posts is closed. Applications for advertisement CC/03/2025 were accepted from August 27 to September 17, 2025; the official recruitment page now lists later recruitment-stage notices. This is a historical announcement, not an open application call. Check POWERGRID’s official recruitment page for updates by post, region and project.
What was the PGCIL recruitment 2025 drive?
POWERGRID, commonly referred to as PGCIL, issued advertisement CC/03/2025 for experienced personnel on a fixed-term contract basis. Recruitment was for Field Engineer and Field Supervisor roles through the POWERGRID Common FTE Written Test-2025. The official notification is dated August 27, 2025: read the full notification.
The advertisement listed 1,543 tentative vacancies. POWERGRID said the numbers could change and that the relevant region or project would notify actual vacancies separately. These are figures from the 2025 notice, not current openings.
Vacancies by post
| Post | Tentative vacancies in POWERGRID’s 2025 notice |
|---|---|
| Field Engineer (Electrical) | 532 |
| Field Engineer (Civil) | 198 |
| Field Supervisor (Electrical) | 535 |
| Field Supervisor (Civil) | 193 |
| Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication) | 85 |
| Total | 1,543 |
Vacancies were region- and project-specific, not interlinked. The notification assigns regions and projects to geographies and describes the RDSS jurisdiction as tentative, so applicants needed to check the relevant post and location details in the notice.

Who could apply?
Eligibility depended on the specific post and discipline. In broad terms, Field Engineer posts required a relevant full-time engineering degree, while Field Supervisor posts generally required a relevant full-time diploma. Both routes required at least 55% marks and one year of relevant post-qualification experience. The notification states that higher technical qualifications were not allowed for the Field Supervisor posts.
The upper age limit was 29 years as of September 17, 2025, the application closing date. The notice lists applicable category-based age relaxations and post-wise discipline and experience conditions. The full advertisement and any corrigendum govern eligibility; the broad summary above is not a substitute for checking the exact post and category requirements.

What were the job terms and pay?
These were contractual appointments, not permanent POWERGRID jobs. The initial engagement was for 24 months or until project completion, whichever came first. The notice allowed for a possible extension subject to conditions, with the cumulative term potentially reaching five years. It expressly stated that the engagement would not automatically entitle the person to regular POWERGRID employment.
POWERGRID described approximate annual CTC of ₹8.9 lakh for Field Engineers and ₹6.8 lakh for Field Supervisors. These are approximate package figures in the 2025 notice, not guaranteed take-home salaries. The package included pay, allowances and benefits; RDSS project perks were variable and performance-linked. Consult the notification for its pay-band and benefit details.

How were candidates selected?
The selection process included a one-hour written test with 50 technical questions based on the relevant discipline’s degree or diploma syllabus and 25 aptitude questions covering English and reasoning. The notification also describes interview and subsequent document-verification and medical steps, subject to post and eligibility.
Because later notices may be specific to a region, post or project, use the official recruitment page for test, score-card, interview, document-verification and provisional-selection updates rather than assuming one final status applies to every applicant.

Application dates, fee and original instructions
The application window ran from August 27 through September 17, 2025, and is now closed. A contemporaneous Scroll.in announcement reported a non-refundable fee of ₹400 for Field Engineer applicants and ₹300 for Field Supervisor applicants. It described online registration through POWERGRID’s careers/job-opportunities page, submission of the form and fee, and keeping a printout: Scroll.in’s August 28, 2025 announcement. Those were instructions for the expired application period, not a way to apply now.
