For Bitcoin-focused coverage, start with Bitcoin Magazine and Decrypt’s Bitcoin section; for broader crypto, markets and policy reporting, compare outlets such as CoinDesk, The Block and Reuters. The ten sites below are a practical shortlist—not a verified popularity ranking or a finding that any one outlet is the fastest or most accurate.
10 websites for Bitcoin news and updates

CoinDesk
A broad crypto newsroom covering markets, policy, finance and technology. Its sitemap also lists newsletters, research and data resources. -

The company describes additional offerings such as newsletters, research, data and podcasts, and says it maintains an editorial firewall between its newsroom and commercial interests. How to choose a Bitcoin news source
Start with the kind of information you need rather than treating a ten-site list as a league table.
- Bitcoin focus or wider context: A Bitcoin-specialist outlet can keep attention on Bitcoin, while a general crypto newsroom can put its news alongside other digital assets. Mainstream business and financial outlets may add market or policy context.
- Headlines or explanation: A live news feed is useful for seeing new developments. For a decision that could affect your money, check whether a report links to the underlying source and seek fuller explanation rather than relying on a headline alone.
- General-reader or specialist coverage: Compare how much background a story provides with how much detail you want. The right level depends on the question, not on a universal ranking.
- Free news or optional extras: Start with the news pages. Newsletters and research products are optional additions; CoinDesk and The Block list such offerings, but their availability and terms can change.
How to check an important Bitcoin claim
News reports can point you toward a development, but a headline is not a substitute for evidence. For a claim that could affect a financial decision, open any linked original filing, policy document, company announcement or other primary material and check its date and scope. If the story does not identify a source, treat the claim as unconfirmed until you can verify it elsewhere.
What this list does—and does not—establish
This is a practical shortlist, not a measured popularity ranking. No neutral popularity metric or comparative accuracy audit was established, so the list does not show that one site is definitively best, most reliable or fastest. Current homepages and feeds are the appropriate places to confirm what each publisher is covering now; in particular, check the current Bitcoin sections for Blockworks, Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC and Bitcoin.com News.
