Aaj English TV, Business Recorder and ProPakistani each reported these figures as rates attributed to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The reports agree on the quoted amounts, although the underlying association release was not directly available in the reviewed sources. Aaj English TV, Business Recorder and ProPakistani published the matching rates.
Why another same-date page shows different prices
A Pakistan Observer page dated December 4 lists gold at Rs450,500 per tola and silver at Rs6,129 per tola, rather than the figures reported by the three outlets above. The available reports do not establish why the figures differ, so the discrepancy should not be treated as resolved by an official primary release. Pakistan Observer’s same-date report provides the conflicting figures.
International gold quotes reported that morning
Aaj English TV reported international spot gold at $4,179.71 per ounce, down 0.5%, at 0617 GMT on December 4. It separately gave December U.S. gold futures at $4,210.20 per ounce, also down 0.5%, and a benchmark quote of $4,191 per ounce with a $20 premium. These are distinct quote types and should not be read as interchangeable prices. The report described profit-taking and investor attention to the following week’s U.S. Federal Reserve meeting as context for the market’s weakness.
