CBSE’s application deadline for its 2025 recruitment of 142 Superintendent and 70 Junior Assistant posts was January 31, 2025. That deadline has passed; applications for this 212-post drive are not open now. The vacancies were tentative, and the recruitment notice said their number could increase or decrease.

What the 212-post CBSE recruitment covered

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued the recruitment notice in December 2024 for Recruitment Exam 2025. It advertised 142 Superintendent vacancies and 70 Junior Assistant vacancies. The application window ran from January 2 through January 31, 2025. See the official vacancy notice and detailed advertisement.

Post Group and pay level Minimum qualification in the notice Age limit Selection outline
Superintendent Group B, Pay Level 6 Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent; working knowledge of computers and applications Up to 30 years Preliminary MCQ exam, objective and descriptive main exam, then qualifying typing test
Junior Assistant Group C, Pay Level 2 Class 12 or equivalent 18 to 27 years MCQ exam followed by qualifying skill test

These are the broad requirements in the detailed advertisement, not a substitute for its full eligibility and exam rules. Category-based age relaxations apply; candidates assessing an individual case should consult the full notification.

Typing and skill-test requirements

Superintendent

The notice required computer typing at 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi as a mandatory qualifying skill. The post also required working knowledge of computers and applications.

Junior Assistant

The computer typing requirement was 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi. The skill test was qualifying, according to the detailed advertisement.

Application and recruitment status

Registration for the 2025 drive is closed, so the old notice should not be treated as an active application form. CBSE’s recruitment listing later carried an April 2025 examination schedule and result notices, confirming that the recruitment progressed beyond the application stage. Check the CBSE recruitment listing for official notices. CBSE also published a correction-facility notice on February 6, 2025: correction notice PDF.

Do not confuse the 2025 drive with DRQ 2026

The 212 vacancies belong to the recruitment notice issued in December 2024 for Recruitment Exam 2025. A separate notice dated December 2, 2025, announced CBSE’s Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026, with 27 Superintendent and 35 Junior Assistant vacancies and an application deadline of December 22, 2025. Those figures and dates belong to a different recruitment cycle; see the DRQ 2026 notice.

Where to verify post-specific rules

For detailed exam particulars, fee rules, age relaxations, and other conditions, use the relevant official advertisement rather than relying on a short summary. The vacancy counts were expressly described by CBSE as tentative and subject to increase or decrease.
