Reports in summer 2024 linked Fenerbahçe with Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, but the reported figures described an asking price and a budget allocation—not a confirmed offer or agreed fee. Later coverage said Fulham were close to signing him on different reported terms.
What was reported about Fenerbahçe and Sander Berge?
Fenerbahçe’s interest in Berge appeared in reports in July and August 2024. The available coverage does not establish that the Turkish club made an official bid or reached an agreement with Burnley.

Burnley’s reported asking price: £20 million
On 28 July 2024, TeamTalk reported that Fenerbahçe had contacted Berge and that Burnley wanted £20 million. TeamTalk also said there was no agreement with Burnley at that time. These were the outlet’s reported claims, not official statements by either club. TeamTalk’s report
Fenerbahçe’s reported allocation: €15 million
On 8 August 2024, Fenerbahçe Football reported that €15 million had been earmarked for Berge, attributing the figure to Sabah Newspaper. That wording indicates a reported budget or allocation; it does not establish that Fenerbahçe submitted a bid. Fenerbahçe Football’s report

How do the reported figures compare?
| Figure | What it described | Source and date | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| £20 million | Burnley’s reported asking price | TeamTalk, 28 July 2024 | An accepted offer or agreed fee |
| €15 million | Amount reportedly earmarked for Berge | Fenerbahçe Football, 8 August 2024, citing Sabah Newspaper | A formal bid or agreed fee |
| £20 million plus £5 million in add-ons | Reported Fulham transfer terms | beIN SPORTS Türkiye, 19 August 2024, citing The Athletic | Official confirmation of the final registration or full terms |
The first two figures refer to different things: one was presented as Burnley’s asking price, the other as an amount Fenerbahçe had earmarked. They are also in different currencies, so they should not be treated as directly equivalent without accounting for exchange rates and timing.

What is confirmed—and what is not?
- Reports linked Fenerbahçe with Berge in July and August 2024.
- The cited coverage does not prove that Fenerbahçe made an official offer or that Burnley agreed to sell him to the club.
- The £20 million and €15 million figures were reported in distinct contexts, not as an agreed transfer fee.
- A separate 10 June 2026 statement from Burnley concerns a later disciplinary ruling and does not verify any of the 2024 transfer figures. Burnley’s statement
