Buy an Amazon gift card online
- Open the Amazon gift-card listing for the marketplace the recipient uses. For digital delivery, select an eGift Card; for a tangible present, choose an available physical card.
- Choose the design and amount shown on that listing. For an eGift Card, select email or text delivery if available, and enter the recipient’s details carefully. Add a message or schedule email delivery if those options appear.
- Review the recipient address or phone number, amount, delivery choice, and current card terms before checkout. Amazon’s cited product details state that the described cards have no fees, do not expire, and are not returnable or refundable; confirm the terms for the specific card and region.
- Complete checkout through Amazon and keep the order confirmation. If you are sending a card directly, verify the destination before placing the order.
Check where the card can be used
An Amazon.com gift card is for eligible purchases on Amazon.com and certain related websites, subject to its terms. It is not a general-purpose payment method: Amazon says gift cards cannot be used to pay third-party merchants through Amazon Pay. Check the applicable marketplace and terms rather than assuming that a card works wherever Amazon Pay is accepted. Read Amazon’s gift-card terms.
Protect the claim code from scams
Do not use a gift card to pay a person or business demanding payment. Amazon Customer Service warns: “DO NOT pay people or businesses with Gift Cards.” Treat unsolicited messages, urgent demands, and requests for a claim code or a photograph of a physical card as warning signs. Do not share a code with someone you do not know and trust, and verify any message claiming someone sent you a gift card before acting.
