You can use an OTC card on Amazon only if it is a supported OTC Network card and your health plan is listed as an Amazon retailer. Add the card and a backup credit or debit card to your Amazon wallet, shop for items marked “OTC Benefits card eligible,” then choose the benefits card at checkout and review the coverage before ordering.
Check that your card and health plan are supported
Amazon’s OTC Benefits instructions apply to supported OTC Network cards, not every card described as an OTC card. Look for the OTC Network logo on your card, then check whether your health plan appears on Amazon’s OTC Benefits page. If your plan is not listed, Amazon says it has not enabled Amazon as a retailer. Call the number on the back of your card to ask where you can use your benefits.
Add the OTC card to your Amazon account
- Sign in to Amazon or create an account.
- Open Amazon’s OTC Benefits page.
- Go to Your Payments and add your OTC Network card. Amazon’s instructions are: “First add your OTC Network card to your Amazon wallet, then select an eligible item for purchase and proceed to checkout.”
- Add a backup credit or debit card. Amazon requires a backup payment method for purchases that the OTC benefit does not cover.
Find products eligible for your benefit
Browse the OTC Benefits storefront or search Amazon and filter for items eligible for an OTC Benefits card. Check the product detail page for the “OTC Benefits card eligible” badge; eligible items also show that badge in the cart. Eligibility is specific to the product and your plan, so a broad category does not guarantee coverage. Amazon’s listed categories include pain and allergy relief, cold and flu products, and dental, eye, and ear products.
Choose the card and review coverage at checkout
- Add eligible items to your cart and proceed to checkout.
- Select your OTC card as the payment method.
- Choose Check coverage and balances to see your overall benefit balance and the balances for the benefit types supplied by your plan. Amazon says this balance information comes from OTC Network.
- Review the payment breakdown before placing the order. Eligible items can be charged to benefits; ineligible items and any uncovered amount may be charged to your backup payment method.
Shipping coverage depends on your program and available balance. Check the final breakdown rather than assuming shipping will be paid by the OTC benefit.

Check plan-specific rules for subscriptions
IEHP’s 2026 Vibrant Health Card guide describes the same basic process for its members and says only the first Subscribe & Save delivery is paid with OTC funds; future deliveries use the backup card. That instruction is specific to IEHP’s guide, so check your own plan’s rules before starting a recurring delivery.
