If you want to buy concert tickets somewhere besides Ticketmaster, start with the event’s official artist, organizer, or venue page and follow its ticket link. Then compare the authorized primary seller, the venue box office, and any event-approved resale option. The eight alternatives below are practical places to check—not interchangeable vendors or a ranking: which one can sell a particular show depends on the event.
Eight places to check for concert tickets
-
AXS
AXS sells primary tickets for some events and also provides a resale route. Its fee information is specific to the event and venue; some venues may offer reduced-fee purchase options at the physical box office. Check the event page and final checkout total rather than assuming every AXS listing has the same fees. AXS explains its ticket fees and pricing.
-
SeatGeek
SeatGeek operates in both primary and secondary ticketing, but that does not mean it sells primary tickets for every concert. Follow the event’s official ticket link to establish whether a SeatGeek listing is the authorized first sale or a resale listing. Live Nation’s 2026 annual report identifies SeatGeek among competitors in both markets.
-
StubHub
StubHub is a secondary-ticketing marketplace. Treat its listings as resale inventory unless the specific event listing establishes otherwise, and check the organizer’s rules for transfer and resale before paying. Live Nation’s 2026 annual report names StubHub as a secondary ticketing competitor (annual report).

-
Vivid Seats
Vivid Seats is another secondary marketplace. Its buyer guarantee says it covers delivery before the event, validity and authenticity, order accuracy, and remedies for canceled events, subject to the company’s terms and exceptions. Read the current terms for the specific order; the guarantee is Vivid Seats’ policy, not a standard shared by other ticket sites. Review Vivid Seats’ Buyer Guarantee.
-
Eventbrite
Eventbrite is a primary ticketing option for events that use its service. Confirm that the concert’s official artist, venue, or organizer page links to the Eventbrite listing before buying. Live Nation’s 2026 annual report identifies Eventbrite as a primary ticketing competitor (annual report); it does not establish Eventbrite as the seller for any particular show.

The venue box office
Check the venue’s own box office page or contact it directly. It may sell primary tickets even when resale listings are visible elsewhere. Some venues may also offer reduced-fee options at the physical box office, according to AXS; availability and fees vary by venue. Live Nation explains why resale listings can appear before an event sells out.
-
The seller linked by the artist or event organizer
Start at the artist’s, promoter’s, or event organizer’s official page and follow its ticket link. That route helps identify the primary seller for that particular concert; no single platform is authorized for every show. Live Nation’s U.S. policy recognizes organizers, venue box offices, and other primary ticketing providers as possible sources of standard tickets (policy details).

The event’s authorized resale channel
If you need resale inventory, check whether the original ticket issuer or organizer provides an official resale route for that event. Resale and transfer rules can be limited by the organizer, and an available resale listing does not itself establish that primary tickets are sold out. Live Nation’s U.S. policy discusses the distinction between standard and secondary tickets and organizer-imposed restrictions (policy details).
How to compare listings before you pay
Confirm whether it is a primary ticket or resale
A primary ticket is sold for the first time on behalf of the event organizer; a secondary ticket is offered by a reseller. Look for the seller name and listing designation, then check the event’s official page if anything is unclear. Resale listings can appear while primary tickets are still available from the organizer, venue box office, or another primary provider, as Live Nation’s U.S. policy notes.

Compare the checkout total, not just the ticket price
Compare the amount due at checkout, including applicable service, processing, delivery, and tax charges. AXS says its U.S. fee categories can include service, order-processing, facility, delivery, resale, and tax amounts, and that fees vary by event and venue. AXS also states that the total displayed at the start of purchase includes the base ticket price and mandatory fees under applicable federal and state all-in pricing laws; still review the final order summary before submitting payment. AXS fee guidance.
Check delivery, transfer, and admission restrictions
Confirm who is selling the ticket, how and when it will be delivered, and whether it can be transferred to you in time for the event. Review any organizer rules on resale, transfer, price caps, or admission restrictions. For AXS resale purchases, AXS says the buyer contracts with the resale seller and AXS does not warrant the accuracy of seller-provided information (AXS fee and purchase information).

Read the seller’s remedy policy for the problem that matters
Before buying resale, find the specific seller’s terms for late, invalid, or misdescribed tickets and for canceled or rescheduled events. Do not assume a guarantee from one marketplace applies to another; for example, Vivid Seats’ published guarantee is governed by its own terms and exceptions (Vivid Seats Buyer Guarantee).
Why a resale listing does not prove a concert is sold out
A resale marketplace can have listings even when the event organizer or venue still has primary tickets. Check the event’s official ticket link and box office before treating resale as the only option. The exact inventory, seller authorization, fees, and transfer rules depend on the concert, venue, and organizer; the annual-report competitor list identifies companies in the ticketing market, not sellers authorized for every event.
