The Numbers lists Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at $294,100,435 domestic and $157,879,613 international, for a worldwide lifetime gross of $451,980,048. Those are current database totals accessed October 8, 2026, and should not be confused with the September 2024 three-week milestone. The Numbers
Why did the milestone matter to September 2024 box office?
The Associated Press reported that the film accounted for 47% of September box-office revenue at that point in the month, quoting Comscore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian: “September has been a bit of a sleepy month and with around 47% of the revenue being generated by this single film,” said Paul Dergarabedian, the senior media analyst for Comscore. How should you compare the milestone with another movie?
A useful comparison needs to match both the territory and the time window. For example, ScreenDollars’ September 15, 2024 report compared the films’ domestic grosses after 10 days: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice had earned $188.0 million against a listed $100 million production budget; It (2017) had earned $218.8 million against a listed $35 million budget.
