As of October 8, Southwest’s flight-deals page listed a separate offer of up to 40% off base fares for select trips from October 26, 2026, through March 3, 2027, with booking by October 8. Check the airline’s current offer page and your exact itinerary: the deadline is today, and fares and availability can change.
When does the Southwest sale end, and when can you travel?
Southwest’s live flight-deals page, accessed October 8, 2026, advertised up to 40% off base fares on select flights. It stated that customers had to book by October 8 for travel from October 26, 2026, through March 3, 2027. Because the stated booking deadline is October 8, confirm the offer is still available when you search and book. The discount is applied before government taxes and fees; restrictions, exclusions, blackout dates, limited seats, days and markets, and possible additional fees apply. See Southwest’s offer terms.
The page also showed sample one-way starting fares, including Houston (Hobby) from $59 for October 20, Dallas (Love Field) from $79 for October 20, Orlando from $59 for October 19, and New York (LaGuardia) from $147 for October 27. These are route- and date-specific examples, not guaranteed prices for other trips; they may change, and the October 20 examples fall outside the stated October 26–March 3 travel window. Verify eligibility and price in the booking results.
Are the $49 flights still available?
The $49 headline refers to a separate three-day Southwest sale reported by Boston.com on July 21, 2026. Its booking deadline was July 23 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, so those fares are not established as currently bookable on October 8. Boston.com reported a travel window of August 8, 2026, through March 3, 2027, with one-way Basic fares unless otherwise specified, a 21-day advance-purchase requirement, day-of-week rules for continental U.S. and international travel, blackout dates, and limited seats, days and markets. Those were conditions for the July sale, not terms to assume for the October offer. Read the historical report at Boston.com.

Which flights are on sale?
The October offer does not establish a fixed nationwide list of eligible routes. Southwest says sale fares may not be available on every flight, date or route, and can sell out. Availability depends on the specific market, travel date and flight. Its Low Fare Calendar can help compare fares for a market across flexible dates; the exact itinerary and price must still be checked in the booking flow. See Southwest’s sale-fare guidance.

How to check a fare before booking
- Open Southwest’s Low Fare Calendar if your dates are flexible, or enter your origin, destination and intended dates in the flight search.
- Check the exact route, departure date and itinerary in the results. A promotional starting fare does not show that the same price is available on every flight.
- Review the offer terms and the final displayed total before purchasing. The October offer’s stated discount is applied before government taxes and fees, and additional fees may apply.
- Use the terms attached to the offer you are booking. Do not carry over the July sale’s $49 price, 21-day advance-purchase rule, travel-day rules or blackout dates to the October offer unless its own terms confirm them.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
