Yes. TELUS, BCE (Bell) and Rogers Communications appeared on TIME and Statista’s 2025 World’s Most Sustainable Companies list. Their reported positions were 83rd, 183rd and 402nd, respectively. The ranking assessed company information for calendar year 2023, not their 2025 performance.

Where TELUS, Bell and Rogers ranked

MobileSyrup’s June 26, 2025 report gives the three placements and identifies Bell’s entry under its corporate name, BCE.

Company as reported Position on the 2025 list
TELUS 83
BCE (Bell) 183
Rogers Communications 402

TELUS and BCE were in the list’s top 250; Rogers was in the bottom 100, according to MobileSyrup’s report. These are positions in a sustainability ranking, not a comparison of telecom plans or service quality.

What TIME’s 2025 ranking measures

TIME says the 2025 list evaluates company commitments and progress using information for calendar year 2023, the latest year for which complete data were available when the list was published. The label “2025” identifies the edition; it does not mean the companies’ 2025 operations were assessed. See TIME’s 2025 ranking.

TIME and Statista say they considered more than 5,000 large and influential companies and selected 500 for the final list. The process used more than 20 data points and produced scores with a maximum of 100. It combined external ratings and company commitments, examination of sustainability reporting and transparency, and research into environmental and social indicators. The methodology also excluded certain unsustainable industries and companies associated with specified negative lists or controversies. Details are in TIME and Statista’s methodology.

Examples of indicators

  • Environmental measures such as emissions and energy intensity, renewable-energy ratio, waste intensity and recycled waste.
  • Social and workforce measures such as gender representation on boards and in leadership, gender pay gap, work safety and employee turnover.

How to interpret the placements

The ranking is a scored comparison based on disclosed information, selected indicators, ratings and commitments. A place on the list is not a universal sustainability certification, nor does a position establish that a company performs well on every environmental or social impact. The sources do not provide an independent assessment of the three companies’ real-world outcomes beyond the ranking process described by TIME and Statista.

Accordingly, TELUS’s higher placement means it ranked ahead of BCE and Rogers in this particular assessment; it does not show which provider has better coverage, pricing, customer support or a plan that suits a particular household.

TELUS’s separate recognition claim

In a June 26, 2025 company announcement, TELUS described itself as the most sustainable telecommunications company in North America on the list. That is TELUS’s characterization of its recognition, rather than a claim to attribute to TIME without qualification. TELUS executive Jill Schnarr also said the recognition reinforced the company’s “global leadership in social capitalism.” These are company statements, not independent findings.
