Apple CEO Tim Cook and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman were among the technology leaders reported at President Donald Trump’s UK state banquet at Windsor Castle on September 17, 2025. King Charles III hosted the evening event during Trump’s official U.S. state visit; the selected guest names reported publicly do not amount to a complete attendee list.
Who attended Trump’s state banquet?
The Associated Press named Cook, Altman and Google DeepMind chief Demis Hassabis among the technology executives invited. It also reported that AstraZeneca chief executive Pascal Soriot and golfer Nick Faldo were among the guests. A contemporaneous press pool report independently identified Cook and Altman and put the total attendance at 160.
The pool report said Cook sat next to Tiffany Trump. It did not identify Altman’s seat. These are selected names from reporting, not a comprehensive roster: the reviewed sources do not provide a single official, complete list of everyone present or explain each guest’s reason for being invited.
When and where was the banquet, and who hosted it?

What was the public diplomatic context?
The Royal Family characterized Charles’s speech as referring to the “enduring bond between our great nations.” The Associated Press reported that Charles emphasized the longstanding U.S.-UK defense and security alliance and support for Ukraine, while Trump praised his royal hosts. Those remarks describe the public speeches; they do not establish that every guest shared or endorsed them.
Being present at a state banquet does not, by itself, demonstrate a business agreement, personal motive or endorsement by any attendee. The published guest reporting establishes presence or invitation as reported, not the private circumstances behind the invitations.
