The YETI LoadOut GoBox 1 is a compact hard case for small essentials—not a cooler. YETI lists it at $65 in the U.S., with exterior dimensions of 9.9 × 5.5 × 2.9 inches and a weight of 1.7 pounds. Its appeal is organization and protection in a small footprint; whether it is worth the price depends on what you need to carry and how you will use it.
What the GoBox 1 is—and what it is not
YETI describes the GoBox 1 as the most compact member of its LoadOut GoBox family, intended to carry small items such as a phone, keys, wallet, charger, cards and permits. It is a hard gear case, not a cooler; YETI says not to fill it with ice. See YETI’s GoBox 1 product page.
Dimensions, weight and organization
YETI lists exterior dimensions of 9.9 × 5.5 × 2.9 inches (25.3 × 13.9 × 7.4 cm) and a weight of 1.7 pounds (0.77 kg). Those are exterior measurements; YETI’s product page does not state internal dimensions, so they do not establish the usable space inside.
The case includes a removable tray, a Silicone PackAttic and a tether strap. YETI says the tray and PackAttic fit most phones and help secure small items. “Most” is not a guarantee for every phone, so check your device against the case’s dimensions and consider its camera bump or case before buying. YETI says the tether can attach to certain YETI bags and soft coolers; the page does not establish that it will attach to every bag or cooler.

Is the GoBox 1 waterproof?
YETI says the GoBox 1 meets IP65 and IP67 ratings and describes it as dustproof and fully submersible. These are claims from the manufacturer, not independent test results established here. An IP rating describes tested protection against dust and water under specified conditions; it does not mean a case is indestructible or suitable for every exposure. If your use depends on a particular depth, duration or water condition, check YETI’s current product guidance rather than assuming the broad phrase “fully submersible” covers it.
Durability: what YETI says
YETI’s product copy says: “We can’t legally say it’s unbreakable, but this cargo box is built to withstand serious impact.” That is a durability claim, not evidence that the GoBox 1 will outlast other gear. No independent durability comparison is established by the available sources, so treat “might outlast your gear” as a possibility rather than a proven product advantage.

Price, warranty and whether it is worth it
YETI’s U.S. product page listed the GoBox 1 at $65 and a five-year warranty when accessed October 8, 2026. Price, colors, availability and warranty terms can change; check the official listing and warranty details before purchase.
The case makes the most sense if you want a small, organized hard shell for essentials and value its stated protection and included organizers. It is less compelling if you need substantial storage, want a cooler, or expect the case to prove more durable than competing gear. YETI says no separate accessories are compatible with the GoBox 1, so the included tray, PackAttic and tether are the organization options to weigh.

When a larger GoBox may fit better
If your gear exceeds phone-sized essentials, consider a larger case in the same family rather than forcing a compact case to do a larger job. YETI’s GoBox 10 product page identifies a larger alternative, but the available product information does not provide a complete, like-for-like comparison of capacities, dimensions, accessories, prices and protection claims across sizes. Check the current listings against your actual gear before deciding.
