The seven gaming desktops in this roundup were featured by Tom’s Guide during Prime Day 2025, which ended on July 12, 2025. Their reported prices and availability are historical, not current offers. The list can still help you compare the kinds of prebuilt PCs shoppers were weighing—but check today’s exact configuration and retailer listing before treating any price as a deal.
Why the “act fast” headline is out of date
Tom’s Guide published its roundup on July 12, 2025, describing Prime Day 2025 as ending that night. That event has passed, so the headline’s urgency no longer applies. The article does not establish whether any of its listings, prices, or configurations are available in October 2026. Read the original Tom’s Guide article.
This was a comparison of complete prebuilt gaming desktops, not graphics cards or accessories. The useful buying details are each machine’s processor, graphics card, memory, storage, and price context. A model name alone may not identify the same configuration now, so verify the specifications on the live retailer page.
The seven desktops in the July 2025 roundup
| Desktop | Configuration described by Tom’s Guide | Historical price context |
|---|---|---|
| Skytech gaming desktop | 13th Gen Intel Core i5, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD. The roundup described it as one of the less expensive options. | No price for this specific listed configuration is stated in the available article details. |
| iBuyPower desktop | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD. The article also mentioned a Monster Hunter Wilds game promotion. | No price is stated in the available article details. The promotion was mentioned in the July 2025 roundup; current eligibility is not established. |
| Cooler Master Sneaker X | Intel Core i7-13700K, RTX 4060 Ti, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD. Tom’s Guide highlighted its unusual case and cautioned that its components were older relative to its premium. | No price is stated in the available article details. |
| HP Omen 35L | Core Ultra 5, RTX 4060, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage. The roundup noted customization as an option. | Tom’s Guide reported an offer at $1,099 in July 2025. This is not a current price. |
| Alienware Aurora R16 | Core Ultra 7 265F, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB DDR5, 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD. | No price is stated in the available article details. |
| Skytech Rampage | Liquid-cooled Core i7-14700F, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD. | Tom’s Guide reported $1,999 at Newegg in July 2025. This is not a current price. |
| Alienware Area-51 | Core Ultra 7 265, RTX 5070, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD. | No price is stated in the available article details. |
The roundup also cited a Skytech Archangel with an RTX 5060 at $999 as a sub-$1,000 example. It is not the same named system as the Skytech gaming desktop in the seven-item list, so do not assume the two descriptions refer to one configuration. The $999 figure is a July 2025 report, not a live offer.

How to use the roundup when comparing PCs today
Match the full configuration, not just the model name
Check the processor and graphics card first, then confirm memory and storage. The historical list includes PCs with different GPU tiers and memory capacities; a current listing under the same family name may not match the configuration described here. Confirm the exact parts, capacity, and whether the advertised storage is an SSD before comparing prices.
Compare price against your budget and intended use
The article supplies only three price points among the examples: the Rampage at $1,999, the Omen 35L at $1,099, and the separate Archangel example at $999, all as reported for July 2025. Those figures cannot establish what a comparable PC should cost today. For a current purchase, compare live listings for systems with the same CPU, GPU, memory, and storage rather than relying on an old discount label.

Treat design and promotions as separate considerations
The Sneaker X’s distinctive case was part of its appeal, but the roundup also warned that its components were older relative to its premium. Decide whether the case design is worth paying extra for instead of assuming an unusual enclosure means newer or faster hardware. Likewise, a game promotion mentioned in a 2025 article does not establish that the offer still exists or applies to a current listing.

- Confirm the retailer’s current price, stock status, and return terms on the live product page.
- Match the exact CPU, graphics card, RAM, and storage to the configuration you intend to buy.
- Check whether the listing describes a complete desktop and whether the displayed price includes the configuration shown.
- For a promotion, verify its current terms and eligibility directly with the retailer or manufacturer.
Neither the July 2025 roundup nor its historical prices prove October 2026 availability, current value, or performance. The article’s promotional performance descriptions are not independent benchmark results.
