The Cray Seafood & Grill opened its Currambine restaurant on Thursday, 28 March 2024. PerthNow described it at the time as the group’s sixth venue across Western Australia—not six venues in Perth alone. The restaurant is at 1 Hobsons Gate, Currambine, and its official page lists daily lunch and dinner hours.
When did The Cray Currambine open?
PerthNow reported on 28 March 2024 that The Cray Seafood & Grill’s Currambine restaurant had opened that Thursday. The report called it the group’s sixth venue across Western Australia at the time. PerthNow also reproduced lines from the restaurant’s Facebook post announcing the opening: “Finally, we are now open,” and “Say hello to our Currambine team -they’re experts in turning hunger into happiness!” The report did not attribute those words to a named spokesperson.
Where is the Currambine restaurant, and when is it open?
The Cray’s official Currambine page lists the restaurant at 1 Hobsons Gate, Currambine WA 6028. Its listed hours are lunch daily from 11:30 am to 2 pm and dinner daily from 5 pm to 9 pm. What was on the opening report’s Cray Platter?
PerthNow’s 2024 opening report described the Cray Platter as including a full Mornay crayfish, battered fish, creamy garlic prawns, chilli mussels, pepper calamari, natural oysters, Moreton Bay bugs, chips and salad. The report listed the platter at $165 at that time. That is a historical price, not a current quote: The Cray says menu prices vary by location. How many The Cray venues are there now?
The official locations page currently lists Currambine and venues at Belmont, Bunbury, Fremantle, Gooseberry Hill, Innaloo, Kalgoorlie, Mandurah, Rockingham and Essendon. It is a live list, not a count of the group at the time Currambine opened in March 2024. The Cray locations
