The Good Grocer supermarket and liquor store at 6 Silas Street, East Fremantle, has opened. The supermarket was reported open in February 2025, and its grand-opening event followed on 22 March 2025. The supermarket was reported to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week; published opening coverage does not establish separate current hours for the liquor department.
Where is The Good Grocer East Fremantle?
The store is at 6 Silas Street, East Fremantle WA 6158, on the site of the former Foodworks. The Brindle Group announced the supermarket project in February 2024, describing it as a one-stop food and drink destination. PerthNow’s 2024 report said the Town of East Fremantle had approved 24-hour, seven-day supermarket trading.
When did it open?
The initial announcement anticipated an opening before Christmas 2024. That was a forecast, not the eventual opening date: construction and material-supply challenges delayed the project, and PerthNow reported the store open in February 2025. Fitout contractor Lane Industries says the grand-opening event took place on 22 March 2025. PerthNow’s opening report and Lane Industries’ project account document the later outcome.
What are the hours?
Opening coverage reported the supermarket as operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The available reports do not specify current, department-specific hours for the integrated liquor store, so check with the store before relying on the supermarket schedule for liquor purchases.

What does the store sell?
Opening-period coverage highlighted Western Australian-grown produce, chef-prepared meals, a bakery and the integrated Good Grocer Cellar. Bakery items included tortillas, pastries and bread, as well as Rottnest Bakery favourites such as jam and cream doughnuts, caramel slices and chocolate lamingtons. The cellar was described as carrying local and international craft beer, with WA examples including Rocky Ridge, Boston Brewing Co., Beerfarm and Little Creatures. What happened to the liquor-store approval?
In February 2024, the supermarket had development approval, while liquor licensing approval was still pending. Later opening-period coverage describes an integrated liquor cellar at the completed store. The earlier pending status therefore describes the project at announcement, not the reported outcome after opening. What was planned for the grand opening?
The 22 March 2025 event preview listed tastings, a cheese showcase, Bam Bam gelato, coffee, prepared meals, wine tasting, live music and children’s activities. Those were event details for that date, not evidence of ongoing promotions. The event preview gives the announced program.
