No. Buc-ee’s said on January 20, 2026, that its Luling, Texas, travel center “is, and will remain,” the largest in its fleet. The company disputed reports that the proposed St. Lucie, Florida, project would take that title. The available sources do not confirm when the Florida project will open.
Which Buc-ee’s is the largest?
Buc-ee’s identifies its Luling, Texas, travel center as the largest in its fleet. In a January 20, 2026, statement, the company said reports describing the proposed St. Lucie, Florida, project as its largest store were incorrect. Read Buc-ee’s clarification via ACCESS Newswire.
The company attributed the conflicting reports to different parameters used by planning departments to report building sizes in official documents. Its statement did not give St. Lucie’s competing figure or explain which areas were counted, so the figures cannot be independently reconciled from that statement alone.
How large is the Luling store?
Texas Co-op Power reported in September 2024 that the Luling store measures 75,593 square feet, larger than the 74,000-square-foot Sevierville, Tennessee, location. That is a publication’s reported area, not a figure supplied in Buc-ee’s later clarification. See the Texas Co-op Power report.

When Buc-ee’s announced the Luling project in November 2022, it described the planned travel center as more than 75,000 square feet and said it would have 120 fueling positions. The announcement concerned the plan; the 2024 report described the opened store. Read the 2022 Buc-ee’s announcement.
Why did St. Lucie get called the largest?
The dispute appears to involve how building sizes are reported, rather than a confirmed like-for-like comparison of the two completed stores. Buc-ee’s said planning departments use different parameters in official planning documents, but did not specify the methods or identify the precise figures behind the St. Lucie reports. Without those definitions, a reported project or building area should not automatically be compared with Luling’s reported store area.

When will the St. Lucie Buc-ee’s open?
The reviewed company statement does not give an opening date, and the available sources do not establish one. Buc-ee’s official press-release archive is an index of dated company announcements, not a live tracker of every project’s construction or opening status. Treat claims that the Florida location is “opening soon” as unconfirmed unless supported by a current, project-specific announcement.

In September 2024, Texas Co-op Power reported that 96 pumps were in place and 24 additional pumps were planned after removal of the former store. That was the status reported at the time, not a current pump count. The publication also described the building as larger than a football field and said it could hold 25 standard-sized convenience stores; those are illustrative comparisons, not measurement standards.
