He first looked for agency advertising accounts to address those problems for his businesses, then made access available to other advertisers. That origin story is documented mainly in 2024 contributor articles, so company claims and ambitions should be read as attributed accounts rather than independently verified biography.
Who is Jacob Clyburn?
Agency Aurora’s official profile identifies Jacob Clyburn as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. The profile does not provide a detailed personal biography. The available published accounts focus instead on how he says Aurora grew out of the advertising challenges he encountered as an e-commerce operator.
What problem led him to start Agency Aurora?
A Digital Journal contributor article dated August 7, 2024, says Clyburn had been working in e-commerce for around six years by that point. That is the article’s relative description, not a verified career-start date. It reports that he encountered unclear advertising policies, disabled accounts, high costs and poor support while promoting his businesses.
In the same article, Clyburn explained the original purpose this way: “Aurora was initially created to get access to agency advertising accounts for my e-commerce brands.” The sequence matters: in his account, the business began as a solution to his own operating needs, not as a service built around an independently documented personal history or a broad biography.

How did an internal solution become a service?
A USA Today contributor article published August 9, 2024, describes Clyburn first letting close collaborators use accounts managed by Aurora, then extending access to a wider business network facing similar challenges. He characterized his experience this way: “Whilst running multiple E-Commerce brands at a really high scale, I experienced a lot of issues when I was advertising,”
The contributor accounts describe agency advertising accounts as potentially offering fewer restrictions, lower costs, higher limits or more direct support than ordinary accounts. Those are descriptions associated with Aurora-related material, not universal guarantees. Eligibility, terms and support depend on the relevant advertising platform and account arrangement; an agency account does not exempt an advertiser from platform policies or guarantee uninterrupted service.
What did Clyburn say he wanted Aurora to become?
In 2024, Clyburn described ambitions to expand Aurora beyond account access, with AI tools, compliance checks, site optimizers, advertising guides and related services. These goals appear in the Digital Journal, GeekWire and USA Today contributor articles. They document what he said he hoped to build then; they do not establish which of those services are available now.
Digital Journal also reported more than 30 full-time employees in 2024. That is a dated article claim, not a current headcount. A separate company-size field in an undated inabit case study lists 40 employees. The two figures come from different publications and dates or contexts; neither should be treated as a verified current staffing number.

What does the inabit case study add to the story?
An inabit vendor case study identifies Clyburn as Aurora’s CEO and describes the company’s treasury operations as it supported advertisers globally. The case study says Aurora used inabit’s treasury platform. Inabit reports a 90% reduction in reconciliation time and three times the transaction volume without added headcount. Those are vendor-published outcomes tied to its customer case study, not independently verified results or evidence that agency advertising accounts generally produce those effects.
In the case study, Clyburn said: “There comes a point in scaling where you need to stop operating like a startup and start operating like an enterprise. inabit gave us that feeling of maturity. It empowered our finance team to move fast, but with the confidence that the guardrails are always there to catch them.” The quote offers a view of Aurora’s finance operations, rather than further detail about his personal background or the company’s founding chronology.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is established—and what remains unclear?
The best-supported account is a business-origin arc: Clyburn says e-commerce advertising difficulties prompted him to seek agency accounts for his own brands; Aurora then extended access to other advertisers. The official profile supports his CEO title, while the fuller narrative comes from contributor articles and the operational details come from a vendor case study.
The reviewed accounts do not establish Clyburn’s education, family background, early jobs, a detailed chronology of setbacks, or a year-by-year history of Aurora. Nor do 2024 descriptions confirm the company’s present service lineup. The story is therefore most useful as an account of the problem Aurora was created to address, not as a complete personal biography.
