If “fastest” means the shortest manufacturer-published 0–60 mph time, the clearest under-$100,000 pick in the available current figures is the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: Chevrolet lists a starting price of $73,495 and claims 2.8 seconds to 60 mph. For a lower-cost alternative with a published acceleration figure, the 2026 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 starts at $58,300 and Toyota claims 3.9 seconds. These are manufacturer claims, not results from a controlled head-to-head test, and this shortlist is not an exhaustive ranking of every eligible car.

Quickest from 0–60 mph: the 2027 Corvette Stingray

Chevrolet says the 2027 Corvette Stingray can reach 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and lists a starting price of $73,495. That makes it the quickest clearly price-qualified car in the figures compared here. Chevrolet’s claim is configuration-dependent; it should not be read as a guaranteed result for every Stingray or as an independent test. Chevrolet’s announcement also says the car reached a validated 200-mph top speed in a specific configuration: a 1LT without the Z51 package, on a closed course.

Fast sports cars with current published figures

The comparison below separates verified starting-price and acceleration claims from candidates for which the collected official figures do not support a comparable ranking. Prices are manufacturer-listed starting prices, not out-the-door costs; taxes, dealer fees, options and market markups may increase what a buyer pays.

Model and year Published price evidence 0–60 mph and top speed What the figures establish
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, 2027 Starts at $73,495, per Chevrolet Chevrolet claims 2.8 seconds to 60 mph. A 200-mph validated top speed applies to a 1LT without Z51, on a closed course. Quickest supported 0–60 claim among the price-qualified options here; top-speed result is configuration-specific.
Toyota GR Supra 3.0, 2026 Starts at $58,300, per Toyota Toyota claims 3.9 seconds to 60 mph; a top-speed figure is not stated on the cited page. A lower-priced option with a published acceleration claim; offered with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.
Nissan Z Sport, 2026 Starts at $42,970, per Toyota’s comparison page A comparable 0–60 mph or top-speed figure is not stated on that page. A lower starting-price candidate, but the cited figures do not establish its place in a speed ranking.
Ford Mustang GT / Dark Horse, 2026 Exact trim starting prices are not stated on the cited Ford page. A comparable 0–60 mph or top-speed figure is not stated on that page. Ford lists 480 hp for GT and 500 hp for Dark Horse; horsepower alone does not show which reaches 60 mph first.
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Exact trim starting price is not stated on the cited overview. Chevrolet lists an available 2.6-second 0–60 mph claim and a 10.6-second quarter-mile at 131 mph; a top-speed figure is not stated there. Potentially quicker than Stingray, but the evidence here does not confirm an exact trim under the $100,000 cap.

How the main contenders differ

2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: the quickest supported claim

At $73,495 starting, the Stingray’s claimed 2.8-second 0–60 time is the strongest combination of price and acceleration evidence in this shortlist. The 200-mph result is not a general figure for every Stingray: Chevrolet specifies a 1LT without Z51 and a closed-course validation. See Chevrolet’s 2027 Stingray announcement for those qualifications.

2026 Toyota GR Supra 3.0: a less expensive verified alternative

Toyota lists the GR Supra 3.0 at $58,300 with a claimed 3.9-second 0–60 time. Buyers can choose a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. Toyota’s 2026 GR Supra model page provides the price and acceleration claim.

2026 Nissan Z Sport: lower listed price, incomplete speed comparison

Toyota’s side-by-side comparison lists a $42,970 starting MSRP and 400 hp for the Nissan Z Sport, compared with $58,300 and 382 hp for the GR Supra 3.0. Both are rear-wheel drive and have two seats. Toyota lists 6.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity for the Z and 10.2 cubic feet for the Supra. The comparison does not give a comparable Z 0–60 time, so its lower price and higher horsepower do not prove it is quicker. Details are on Toyota’s GR Supra versus Nissan Z comparison.

2026 Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse: power is not a speed ranking

Ford lists 480 hp for the 2026 Mustang GT and 500 hp for the Dark Horse. The cited Ford page does not establish exact starting prices for those trims or comparable 0–60 claims. As a result, neither should be ranked against the Stingray or Supra based on horsepower alone. Check the specific configuration and price on Ford’s 2026 Mustang page.

Corvette Z06: a faster claim, but the budget needs confirming

Chevrolet lists an available 2.6-second 0–60 claim for the Corvette Z06 and a quarter-mile time of 10.6 seconds at 131 mph. The cited overview does not establish the model year and exact trim price needed to verify that a Z06 configuration is under $100,000. Treat it as a possible contender to price-check, not a confirmed budget pick. Chevrolet’s Corvette overview provides the performance figures.

Why the quickest claim is not the whole buying decision

Manufacturer acceleration figures are useful for an initial comparison, but they are not controlled head-to-head results. Launch surface, tires, package, fuel, weather and the method used to measure the start can affect a 0–60 run. Chevrolet describes its listed acceleration figures as configuration-dependent. A small difference between claims should not be treated as proof of a repeatable real-world advantage without comparable independent testing.

Also distinguish a starting MSRP from the amount you will pay. The listed price does not necessarily include options, taxes, dealer fees or a markup. Before comparing a car with the $100,000 ceiling, price the exact trim and equipment you intend to buy and check the dealer’s out-the-door figure.

Cars that fall outside the $100,000 cap

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 illustrates why performance alone does not make a car a budget candidate. Chevrolet announced a $174,995 starting price for the coupe, alongside a claimed 2.3-second 0–60 time and a 233-mph track top speed. It is far above this article’s price limit, so it is not an eligible option. See Chevrolet’s ZR1 pricing announcement.

How to use this shortlist

  • For the quickest supported 0–60 claim with a documented starting price, begin with the 2027 Corvette Stingray.
  • For a lower starting price and a published 0–60 claim, compare the 2026 GR Supra 3.0.
  • Consider the Nissan Z, Mustang variants or Corvette Z06 only after confirming the exact trim’s price and locating a comparable acceleration figure.
  • Compare the configured, out-the-door price—not just the base MSRP—against your budget.
