The latest specific deal found was $1,839 for a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the standard M5 chip, 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD on Amazon. Macworld reported the U.S. Prime Day offer on October 7, 2026, and said it ended that day. It is a dated reference, not a confirmed price or availability for October 8; check the current listing and checkout total before treating it as a live deal.
What was the MacBook Pro M5 deal?
Macworld’s October 7, 2026 U.S. Prime Day price check reported the 14-inch standard-M5 configuration with 16GB memory and 1TB storage at $1,839 on Amazon. The sale ended October 7, so the report does not establish today’s price, stock, seller, shipping terms or return policy. Macworld’s October 7 deal roundup
Against the $1,999 U.S. entry price Macworld reported after Apple’s June 2026 increase, $1,839 was $160 lower. That comparison is useful only if you match the standard M5 chip and the actual memory and storage configuration: “MacBook Pro M5” listings can refer to different screen sizes and chip tiers.
Why the price baseline matters
The standard M5 MacBook Pro’s entry configuration and price changed during 2026. Macworld reports it launched at $1,599; in March, after Apple removed the 512GB model, the 1TB configuration became the entry model at $1,699. In June, the entry price rose to $1,999. The $1,839 deal was therefore below the June entry price, but it was not a simple comparison with the original launch configuration: the storage baseline had changed. Is the deal still available?
The cited Amazon promotion had ended by October 8, 2026. The available reporting does not verify an October 8 checkout price, so there is no supported basis to call $1,839 a live offer. If you find a current listing, confirm the final price at checkout and verify that it is the 14-inch standard M5 model with 16GB memory and 1TB SSD. Also check the seller, delivery, returns and any eligibility restrictions; those terms were not verified in the dated deal report.

Don’t confuse the standard M5 deal with Pro or Max discounts
The MacBook Pro family includes distinct chip tiers. MacRumors reported that M5 Pro and M5 Max models arrived in March 2026, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and increased base storage among the updates. Its October 6 report listed a 14-inch M5 Max model with 36GB memory and 2TB storage at $3,499 on Amazon during Prime Big Deal Days. That is a higher-tier configuration, not a comparable price for the standard M5 model. MacRumors MacBook Pro and MacBook Air deals guide and MacRumors’ October 6 deal report

For this exact standard-M5 configuration, $1,839 is a documented U.S. sale price from October 7, 2026—not a current-price guarantee. Whether a new offer is good depends on the price available now for the same 14-inch, 16GB/1TB model, the seller and purchase terms, and whether you actually need the Pro-level laptop. Do not judge an offer against the former $1,599 launch price without accounting for the later storage and price changes.
