Intuit does list a 2024 version of TurboTax Desktop for purchase on its website, but that is different from its current-year online and mobile products.
Is TurboTax Deluxe 2024 really 30% off?
The 30% discount claim is unverified: no official offer page reviewed establishes the price, dates, eligible edition, market, or conditions. Intuit’s current Deluxe page concerns current-year terms and says prices and offers may change; it does not confirm a discount on the 2024 desktop edition. Check the final price and offer terms on the seller’s checkout page before buying, and do not assume the stated percentage applies.
Intuit’s support information about buying older TurboTax versions says TurboTax Desktop for tax years 2022, 2023, and 2024 can be bought from Intuit’s website. That confirms a vendor-site purchase path, not current inventory or pricing at another retailer.
What does “TurboTax Deluxe 2024” refer to?
It refers to desktop software for tax year 2024—not the current-year TurboTax Online or mobile service. Intuit says its online and mobile products are available only for the current tax year, while older-year software is available as a desktop product.

Before purchasing, check that the software matches the return you need to file. A 2024 edition is associated with a 2024 tax-year return; it should not be treated as the current-year product simply because it is available to buy. Intuit’s historical agreement for its online 2024 service said filing through that service was available through October 15, 2025, or as otherwise permitted by the IRS and supported by Intuit. That past online-service term does not establish what a particular desktop copy can do now.
Has Tax Day passed?
Yes. For calendar-year individual filers, the IRS lists April 15, 2026, as the due date for 2025 federal returns. That date has passed. The “Tax Day is coming” framing is therefore not a current general deadline reminder as of October 8, 2026.

Taxpayers who need more time can request an automatic six-month filing extension, but an extension to file is not an extension to pay. Individual extensions, disaster relief, fiscal-year calendars, and other exceptions can change what applies, so check the IRS’s individual filing deadlines and extension guidance for your circumstances.

What to check before buying older tax software
- Tax year: Confirm that you need software for a 2024 return rather than a current-year return.
- Product type: Confirm that the listing is TurboTax Desktop; availability of the 2024 edition does not mean the 2024 online or mobile service is available.
- Final price and terms: Verify the actual checkout price, applicable market, dates, edition, and eligibility conditions. The 30% claim is not confirmed by the official sources cited here.
