Who was eligible under the 2025 notice?
Education and qualification date
The primary qualification was a two-year Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) conducted by the King Institute of Preventive Medicine or another institution recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The qualification had to be held on July 10, 2025, the notification date.
If candidates with the specified diploma were unavailable, a candidate with a recognized one-year Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology could be considered for appointment. This was a fallback provision, not an equivalent primary route stated for all applicants.

Age limits in the notice
The minimum age was 18, reckoned as of July 1, 2025. The following were the stated maximum ages; these are the recruitment’s 2025 conditions, not current general age rules.

For candidates covered by a “no maximum age limit” provision, the notice required that they not have completed 60 years as of July 1, 2025, or at the time of selection or appointment. It also stated that applicants outside the listed reserved categories who had completed five or more years of service in State or Central Government were ineligible, even if otherwise within the age limit.

How selection was decided
Selection was based on academic and technical qualification marks, subject to reservation and communal rotation. The notification stated, “There will be no oral test (Interview) for the post.”

If a DMLT batch did not award marks specifically, the notice provided for selection using SSLC and HSC/PUC marks only. Reservation-related claims, including applicable provisions for ex-servicemen, differently abled persons and Person Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM), required supporting certificates under the notice.

Application method and fee
Applications were accepted online only, and the application and payment window ended on July 30, 2025. The fee was Rs. 300 for SC, SCA, ST and differently abled candidates, and Rs. 600 for other candidates.
The online submission required a colour photograph, signature and uploaded evidence supporting claims made in the application. Applicants were told not to send a printed application or certificates to the Board. The notice said completed applications and fees could not be withdrawn and fees were non-refundable.

Service conditions and current status
The notification included a commitment to serve at a State medical institution. After joining, selected candidates were not to undergo a course during the first two years, excluding leave. Candidates subject to contractual obligations needed a no-objection certificate from their appointing authority.
The MRB notifications listing reviewed displays the original notice and online registration link for Notification No. 11/MRB/2025, but its page content does not show a result or certificate-verification item under that notification. That listing alone does not establish whether a later merit list, verification notice or final-selection notice was issued elsewhere; check the Board’s official notices for any subsequent update.
