What TS POLYCET is for
TGPOLYCET is an entrance test for candidates seeking diploma-course admission at polytechnics in Telangana. The official 2025 counselling notification also addresses MBiPC-stream rank holders seeking diploma courses in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, or fisheries at the relevant institutions. The official 2025 admission notification describes these admission pathways.
Who was eligible to seek 2025 diploma admission
The 2025 notification set eligibility requirements for admission, which are separate from simply registering for or taking the entrance test. It said candidates should have passed Telangana SSC or an equivalent examination recognized by the Telangana Board of Secondary Education, with Mathematics and at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
#1 Best Overall
For candidates with qualifications from NIOS, TOSS, APOSS, CBSE, ICSE, and other recognized equivalent examinations, the notification specifies at least 35% in each subject, including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. It states there is no age restriction for diploma admission, while noting separate age limits for scholarship eligibility.
The notification cautions: “Mere appearing for TGPOLYCET-2025 and obtaining a rank does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission automatically unless the candidate fulfills the requirements laid down for admissions.” These are 2025-cycle rules; applicants for another year should consult that year’s official notice.

Qualified rank holders seeking admission had to take part in the applicable counselling process and meet admission requirements. The initial detailed counselling document set the first-phase online filing, processing-fee payment, and slot-booking window for June 24–28, 2025; certificate verification for June 26–29; and option entry for June 26–July 1. The initial counselling notification gives those first-phase dates and procedures.
A later official notice revised the schedule for subsequent stages while retaining the first-phase filing window. It covered later phases, internal sliding, and spot admissions, which were scheduled to be completed by August 11, 2025. See the revised 2025 counselling schedule for the later-stage dates.
Certificate verification and documents
Candidates were required to book an appointment at a Help Line Centre and attend certificate verification at the selected centre and time. The documents listed in the notification include:
- TGPOLYCET rank card
- Aadhaar card
- SSC or equivalent examination marks memo
- Study certificates
- Transfer certificate
- Applicable income, EWS, caste, and residence documents
Which supporting documents applied depended on the candidate’s circumstances. Candidates needed to follow the official notification and their booked verification appointment details.
