What Subaru’s November 2025 U.S. sales figures show
In its December 2, 2025 release, Subaru of America reported 52,081 vehicles sold in the United States during November, down 9.7% year over year. For January through November, the company reported 586,154 U.S. sales, a 3.3% decline compared with the corresponding period a year earlier. How the Outback performed
Subaru of America reported 13,089 Outbacks sold in November 2025, 6.5% fewer than in November 2024. Through November, Outback sales totaled 142,943, down 7.1% year over year. The model therefore declined less sharply than Subaru’s overall U.S. sales in November, but its own sales were still lower than a year earlier.

What the redesigned 2026 Outback could change
Subaru Corporation announced the all-new 2026 Outback for the U.S. market on April 18, 2025. That announcement confirms a new model was introduced; it does not establish how many customers bought it or whether it improved sales. Subaru Corporation’s announcement of the all-new 2026 Outback.
A redesign could attract buyers considering a new vehicle, but the November report does not attribute the sales decline—or any potential recovery—to the model change. It does not isolate the effects of inventory, incentives, consumer preferences, supply, or other factors. Without subsequent U.S. sales data tied to the new model’s arrival, the claim that it could “turn the tide” remains a possibility, not a demonstrated outcome.

Keep U.S. sales separate from Subaru’s global figures
Subaru Corporation also publishes production, Japan sales, and export results. Those measures describe different geographies or stages of the business; they are not a substitute for Subaru of America’s U.S. retail-sales report. To judge whether the 2026 Outback is helping Subaru recover, compare later Subaru of America monthly releases with the same months a year earlier, and track Outback results separately from total company sales. The November figures alone establish a decline, not its cause or a reversal. The available figures here do not resolve the later U.S. sales trajectory.
