The brand describes tubing mascara as a formula that forms tube-like polymers around lashes from root to tip. That is different from describing the product as a conventional waterproof mascara: Tarte’s instructions instead recommend warm water to remove the tubes.
Tarte markets the XL formula for length and lift and claims 24-hour flake-free and smudge-proof wear. Those are the brand’s performance claims; they are not independently verified results for this product here. The official Tarte product listing provides the product details and directions.

Tarte’s UK product page reports consumer-panel responses from 32 subjects. The brand says 100% of the panel agreed that the mascara made lashes look longer, lifted, fluttery, and voluminous, and that it looked like lash extensions. Tarte also reports that 100% said their lashes felt nourished rather than brittle, and that the mascara was their new favorite and they would recommend it to a friend.

How to apply the mascara
- Place the wand at the lashes and apply in an upward motion, pulling through to the tips, as Tarte directs.
- For extra volume, Tarte’s pro tip is to wiggle the wand at the lash base before pulling it through the full length.
The directions do not specify a required number of coats or a wait time between coats.

How to remove Tartelette XL Tubing Mascara
Tarte’s directions are to use warm water, then gently press or slide the tubes off the lashes with your fingers or a soft cloth. Avoid pulling forcefully at the lashes. Tarte provides these removal directions on its UK product page.
What is in the formula?
The US listing includes water, acrylates/ethylhexyl acrylate copolymer, denatured alcohol, glyceryl stearate SE, glycerin, dimethicone, VP/eicosene copolymer, carnauba wax, shea butter, castor seed oil, biotin, niacinamide, biotinoyl tripeptide-1, and panthenol, along with other ingredients. Iron oxides are listed as possible pigments for the brown version.
