The altcoin named in the January 16, 2025 TechBullion headline was Remittix (RTX). That identification is not evidence that RTX outperformed Solana or XRP: the article’s token, presale, utility and price claims are not independently verified by the sources available here. Its ETF discussion was also a forecast about 2025, not confirmation that Solana or XRP funds would be approved or begin trading.
Which altcoin did the headline mean?
TechBullion’s January 16, 2025 article named Remittix (RTX) as the altcoin it presented as a possible outperformer against Solana (SOL) and XRP. The story reported a presale, token price, proposed payment and payroll uses, and projected price movement. Those are claims made by that article, not independently established facts about Remittix. The available evidence does not verify its sale terms, operating status, utility, adoption, current price or comparative returns. Read the January 16, 2025 TechBullion article.
As a result, “experts are backing” and “to outperform” should be read as promotional framing in that dated story, not as a verified consensus or a reliable forecast. No substantiated performance comparison here shows RTX beating SOL or XRP.
What did the 2025 ETF forecast actually say?
On December 18, 2024, Fortune reported that Bloomberg ETF analysts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart considered Solana and XRP among possible next crypto ETF launches in 2025. Balchunas also warned that legal issues could delay products and characterized the coming wave of crypto ETFs as potentially “spaghetti thrown at the wall.” He said, “Our view is that Bitcoin will utterly dominate this category.” These were analysts’ views reported at the time, not guarantees of approval, launch or investment performance. The forecast should not be treated as a current prediction or as an outcome report. A separate SEC announcement confirms that Paul S. Atkins was sworn in as SEC Chairman on April 21, 2025, after Senate confirmation on April 9. Those dates establish a leadership change; they do not show that any specific token ETF was approved or that RTX’s claims were validated. SEC announcement on Atkins’s swearing-in.
What does an XRP ETF filing establish?
WisdomTree filed a Form S-1 registration statement for a proposed XRP fund with the SEC on December 2, 2024. The filing describes a trust whose shares would seek XRP price exposure, less expenses and liabilities, and outlines brokerage trading and cash-based creation and redemption mechanics. It is evidence that a registration statement was filed—not that the SEC approved the fund, that it became effective, or that shares began trading. WisdomTree’s SEC-hosted Form S-1.

Keep the stages distinct: an analyst forecast is an opinion; a filed registration statement is a proposed product’s regulatory document; approval or effectiveness is a further status; and actual trading is another event. One stage should not be presented as proof of the next.

| Consideration | ETF shares | Direct token holding |
|---|---|---|
| Access and custody | Shares may be bought or sold through a brokerage account. The prospectus says this can avoid some potential barriers and risks associated with direct ownership. | The investor obtains, transfers and secures the tokens directly. |
| Exposure and costs | The proposed WisdomTree XRP fund described an objective of XRP price exposure less fund expenses and liabilities; fund share prices may not be identical to the token price. | The investor holds the token itself rather than fund shares, and does not incur that fund’s expenses. |
| Product status | A filing alone does not establish approval, effectiveness or trading. | Direct token ownership does not depend on a particular ETF filing. |
| Risk | Brokerage access does not remove crypto-market risk. The proposed fund’s prospectus calls the shares speculative and warns investors could lose their entire investment. | The investor bears token price risk as well as the practical risks of managing access and custody. |
The risk language comes from the SEC-hosted prospectus for the proposed fund, which states, “The Shares are speculative securities.” An ETF wrapper can change how an investor accesses exposure; it does not make the underlying crypto exposure safe. See the filing and prospectus.

What can investors conclude about RTX, SOL and XRP?
- The exact altcoin named by TechBullion was Remittix (RTX), but the story’s claims about its offering, uses and projected gains are not independently substantiated here.
- The December 2024 ETF outlook was a forecast for 2025, not proof of a product approval or launch.
- WisdomTree’s December 2024 S-1 confirms a filing for a proposed XRP fund only.
- Neither ETF access nor a promotional token comparison establishes that one asset will outperform another. Crypto prices can fall sharply, and the cited prospectus warns of possible total loss.
