Sonia Gandhi’s 2024 Rajasthan Rajya Sabha affidavit declares assets of ₹12,53,76,822 (about ₹12.54 crore) and lists no liabilities. That makes ₹12.54 crore the best-supported figure to cite from the public record—not a current, independently audited estimate of her private net worth.
What Sonia Gandhi’s 2024 affidavit reports
The affidavit is a candidate’s dated self-declaration. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), in its March 2026 analysis of sitting Rajya Sabha MPs, reports the following amounts from her nomination filing:

What makes up the declared assets?
Immovable property
The affidavit transcription lists 0.625 acres of agricultural land in Deramandi, New Delhi, valued at ₹5,88,81,813, and an inherited share in her father’s property in Italy valued at ₹26,83,594. These two disclosed values add up to the reported immovable-asset total of ₹6,15,65,407.

Movable assets
The movable-asset disclosures include investments and securities, PPF savings, gold and silver jewellery, and a royalty claim from Oxford University Press. Hindustan Times reported on 16 February 2024 that the filing listed 1,267 grams of gold and jewellery and 88 kg of silver; it also described the Italian property share as worth about ₹27 lakh. Those descriptions are from the report on the affidavit, rather than a separate appraisal.
Declared assets are not annual income
Assets are holdings reported at the time of filing; income is money received during a particular period. The affidavit lists MP salary, royalties, bank interest, bonds, dividends, and capital gains from mutual funds as income sources. Myneta/ADR reports total income shown in the ITR as ₹16,69,320 for FY 2022–23. That annual income figure should not be added to, or confused with, the affidavit’s asset total.
How the declared figures have changed across filings
Myneta records the following declared-asset totals in Sonia Gandhi’s election affidavits:
| Filing | Declared assets |
|---|---|
| 2014 Lok Sabha election | ₹9,28,95,288 |
| 2019 Lok Sabha election | ₹11,82,63,916 |
| 2024 Rajasthan Rajya Sabha filing | ₹12,53,76,822 |
These are values declared in separate election filings, not a consistent valuation series. Changes between them cannot by themselves show investment returns or precisely track changes in wealth, because the figures are self-reported snapshots made at different times.

What the ₹12.54 crore figure does—and does not—mean
For a concise answer to “Sonia Gandhi net worth,” use “declared assets of about ₹12.54 crore in her 2024 affidavit,” while noting that liabilities were listed as nil. The filing supports that description of her declared financial position at the time; it is not a fresh independent appraisal, and the affidavit repository cautions that a candidate’s current status may differ from the filing.
