The $112.7 million figure describes requested allocations—not money Silencio raised, received, or distributed. The announcement was dated January 2, 2025.
What does “allocation requests” mean?
An allocation request is an application or expression of interest for a portion of an offering. It signals how much prospective participants sought to obtain under the allocation process; it does not establish how much they ultimately paid or how much the project received.
Silencio’s announcement said requests totaled $112.7 million, which it compared with an original $500,000 target. That is the basis for the roughly 220-times headline. It should not be read as $112.7 million of investment. Silencio said it accepted $1.3 million in requests. The announcement does not provide enough detail to treat the accepted figure as proof of funds ultimately settled or distributed.

Who ran the allocation process?
Silencio identified Legion as its partner for the allocation process. The announcement does not provide independent verification of the requests or accepted amount. Decrypt’s matching Chainwire page labels the release as sponsored by commercial partners, so it is a republication of the announcement rather than separate confirmation.
What is Silencio Network?
Silencio describes its project as a network that uses smartphones as noise sensors to collect hyper-local noise data, with potential applications including urban planning, real estate, and hospitality. Its January 2025 announcement reported 460,000 sensors deployed in more than 180 countries and over 100,000 daily on-chain transactions. Those are project-reported metrics; the cited announcement and sponsored republication do not independently verify them.
The announcement said the $SLC token is governed by the BlockSound Foundation and is intended to reward contributors. It forecast a Token Generation Event in the weeks after January 2, 2025. That was a forecast made at the time, not evidence of the token’s current availability or status.
What the milestone does—and does not—show
The reported requests indicate substantial stated interest relative to the original target, but the headline alone cannot show how much money was committed, paid, or received. To assess the financial outcome, keep the accepted amount separate from requests and look for confirmed settlement or project financial disclosures. The available announcement establishes only what Silencio said it accepted.
