Who founded Starform?
Starform’s About page identifies Lou Fasulo, Taylor Daynes, and Jason English as its founders and places the studio in Seattle, Washington. The company says it was founded in 2018 to develop products in partnership with players.

In a June 2, 2023 report, GeekWire said the founders had previously worked at Z2, a Seattle mobile-game studio acquired by King in 2015. That background explains the “Z2 veterans” description; it does not mean Starform is a corporate successor to Z2. What kind of game is Metalstorm?
Metalstorm is Starform’s debut game: an online, 5-versus-5 aerial-combat game in which players pilot fighter jets. It is designed as action-focused team combat, not as a conventional flight simulator.

Starform CEO Lou Fasulo told GeekWire in 2023: “It’s not your typical flight simulator. It’s fast-paced, action-packed, and it breaks away from the simulation category to attract a wider audience.”
What the Steam listing describes
Starform’s Steam page describes aircraft with distinct roles and abilities, upgrades, multiple team modes, and cross-platform multiplayer. It also presents the game as free to play, with optional cosmetics and passes. These are the developer’s storefront descriptions, not an independent assessment of gameplay.
The Steam page lists a minimum configuration of Windows 10, 6 GB of RAM, and 3 GB of storage. System requirements and release information can change, so check the live listing before installing. The page also describes an intended Early Access period of at least six months; that plan is not confirmation that Early Access has begun.
Which platforms is Metalstorm on?
Platform information differs by storefront. Starform’s homepage says the game is available on iOS, Android, and Windows, and its download pages also list Mac. Apple and Google Play each have mobile listings. Steam, by contrast, showed the PC version as “Coming soon” on October 8, 2026. The company pages were last crawled substantially earlier than that date, so their availability statements should be read as company-listed platforms, not confirmation that every client can currently be downloaded.

For touch play, the mobile store listings are the relevant starting point. For PC, the Steam listing indicates the status of that storefront specifically; a Steam “Coming soon” label does not by itself resolve availability through any other Windows distribution route.

The Google Play listing showed a 10M+ download band, 178,000 reviews, and a 4.7-star rating in the 2026 listing snapshot. Apple’s listing showed 40,000 ratings and a 4.8-star rating in the same accessed snapshot. These are store-displayed, changeable counters: downloads are not a verified count of unique players, and ratings are not an independent measure of game quality.
How is Metalstorm monetized?
The Steam listing describes Metalstorm as free to play, with optional purchases such as cosmetics and passes, and says the game is intended to remain free after Early Access. Because Steam still showed the PC release as “Coming soon” on October 8, 2026, that page describes the planned model rather than a confirmed live Steam release.
