The company says the project would lift installed four-wheeler capacity to 54,000 units a year on a single-shift basis after completion; that is a target, not current production. September 2026 briefing coverage reported management expected the facility to become operational in nine to ten months.
Who is Sazgar Engineering’s new CEO?
Sazgar appointed Mian Asad Hameed CEO and Saira Asad Hameed chairperson in a board restructuring announced in March 2026. Business Recorder reported that the appointments carried three-year terms. The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s company profile currently lists Hameed as CEO and Saira Asad Hameed as chairperson. The board also named Saeed Iqbal Khan COO of the three-wheeler and automotive-parts division, and Mian Muhammad Ali Hameed COO of the car division. What is included in the new expansion plan?
Sazgar’s FY2026 annual report puts the new expansion budget at PKR 22.00 billion, excluding land. The scope is a brand-new, fully automatic complete paint shop, civil work and ancillary equipment. Sazgar says the work is intended to increase installed four-wheeler production and assembly capacity to 54,000 units annually on a single-shift basis once the expansion is complete. This is projected installed capacity—not a statement that the company currently produces 54,000 vehicles a year. Sazgar’s FY2026 annual report sets out the budget, scope and capacity target.
How does the PKR 22 billion plan relate to the earlier expansion?
The new paint-shop project follows an earlier four-wheeler expansion plan budgeted at PKR 11.50 billion. In its FY2026 report, Sazgar says it had spent PKR 6.50 billion on a new assembly line, a 5.7-megawatt solar system and new warehousing facilities; those works were completed except for the paint shop. The report says the earlier paint shop’s PKR 5.00 billion cost was folded into the newer paint-shop expansion. The two headline budgets therefore should not be added together as if they covered wholly separate work.

“During the financial year, the Company continued the execution of its Four Wheelers expansion plan of PKR 11.50 billion and completed the construction, installation of new assembly line, installation of solar system of 5.7 megawatts and construction of new warehousing facilities except paint shop at a cost of PKR 6.50 billion.”
That statement is from Sazgar Engineering Works Limited’s FY2026 annual report. The report’s expansion disclosure describes the earlier plan’s spending and completed work, while its newer-plan disclosure gives the revised paint-shop scope and projected capacity.

When could the new paint shop become operational?
In September 2026 corporate-briefing coverage, Nukta reported that management expected the expanded facility to become operational within nine to ten months. That is a management expectation reported by Nukta, not a confirmed completion date. The same coverage described current capacity as roughly 100 vehicles a day and projected capacity as about 180 a day after expansion. These daily figures are reported estimates and should not be confused with the annual single-shift installed-capacity target in Sazgar’s report. What vehicles are being built as the expansion progresses?
Sazgar’s FY2026 annual report says the first CKD TANK-500 Hi4-T 4×4 2.0L Turbo AT PHEV and HEV models rolled out for trial operation beginning March 31, 2026. That disclosure establishes trial rollouts for those models; it does not say that all future capacity will be devoted to them or establish the eventual product mix. Sazgar describes a partnership with GWM in its annual report. The report’s trial-operation disclosure covers the TANK-500 rollout, and its company and partnership information describes the business context.

What other investment plans has Sazgar disclosed?
Separately, Sazgar approved a PKR 4 billion budget for approximately 900 kanals near its car plant for future expansion. Its annual report also says it purchased two commercial plots at Pine Avenue and Lahore’s Central Business District for company showrooms, after-sales facilities and offices. These land and property disclosures are distinct from the PKR 22.00 billion paint-shop budget, which excludes land. Sazgar’s FY2026 annual report describes the land budget and commercial plots.

Nukta reported FY2026 revenue of about PKR 191.7 billion and profit after tax of PKR 23.6 billion, citing company financial disclosures. It said management attributed growth to higher sales of GWM-Haval and GWM Tank 500 vehicles.
