There is no dependable, universal cheapest option among Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and JioMart. The lowest-cost choice depends on your delivery address, the exact products and pack sizes in your basket, current stock, offers you qualify for and the full amount due at checkout. Compare the same complete basket in each app, then verify the total immediately before paying.
How to compare the four services fairly
- Set the same delivery address in every app. Service areas and inventory are local; a service operating in your city may not serve your address or have a particular item in stock. Blinkit publishes a city list, but address-level availability still needs checking. Zepto says it may choose which areas or cities it serves. Blinkit FAQ; Zepto Terms of Use.
- Match products, variants and quantities. Check brand, size, flavour or other variant, and number of units. A lower listed price is not a saving if it is for a smaller pack or a different product. If pack sizes differ, compare unit prices and make the size difference explicit.
- Build the same complete basket. Check stock in each app and account for any substitution. Do not call an incomplete basket the cheapest: its missing items still have to be bought elsewhere.
- Apply only offers you can actually use. Enter eligible coupons and account for any membership benefit consistently. If a saving depends on a paid membership, include the membership cost when deciding whether it is worthwhile for your orders.
- Compare the final amount due, not just item prices. Include every charge and tax shown at checkout, such as delivery, handling, platform, convenience, small-cart, packaging, surge or weather-related fees. Charges differ by service and may vary by cart value, distance, time, demand, traffic or weather.
- Check the delivery estimate separately from price. An estimate is not a guarantee. Traffic, demand, weather and delivery-provider availability can affect arrival time.
- Recheck immediately before payment. Prices, stock and fees can change between browsing and checkout. Use the current checkout total to decide.
What a historical basket comparison can—and cannot—tell you
A JM Financial Institutional Securities Limited report sampled 30 grocery and household items on July 10, 2024, in Lower Parel, Mumbai, and Noida, Delhi NCR. Its totals differed by both location and platform:

These are historical sample totals, not current prices or a national ranking. The report’s example of 1 kg Tata Salt makes the point at item level: it listed ₹27 on Blinkit, ₹27 on Instamart, ₹28 on Zepto and ₹23 on JioMart in Lower Parel; in Noida it listed ₹25 on all four. Zepto’s terms say seller prices may change, applicable charges are shown at checkout and its ETA is indicative. The terms also describe “Lowest Prices” in relation to an average-price computation against competitors, subject to stock; that wording is not a promise that every product or full basket will be cheapest. Swiggy Instamart
Swiggy says merchants determine product prices. Depending on the order, checkout charges may include delivery, handling, convenience, platform, packaging, small-cart and surge charges; availability or item-price changes may also be communicated. Swiggy One members get no delivery fee on qualifying Instamart orders above ₹199 under the stated terms, subject to membership and order conditions. JioMart

A quick way to decide
- Choose the lowest final total only when the basket is complete and the products and quantities match.
- If one service is cheaper only because it lacks an item, compare the cost of completing the basket elsewhere rather than treating it as a like-for-like win.
- When totals are close, consider whether the available delivery estimate and stock meet your needs; do not treat a faster estimate as guaranteed.
- Base the decision on the checkout page for your address and order, not a city-wide claim, an old comparison or a headline price.
