A Mandurah man in his 50s won a reported $518,364 Saturday Lotto division one prize after buying his ticket at Nextra Forum West Newsagency. Lotterywest said a retailer discreetly told him the news after a message appeared during a ticket scan.
Who won Saturday Lotto in Mandurah?
Lotterywest identified the winner only as a Mandurah man in his 50s. It did not publish his name. The reported division one prize was $518,364, according to Lotterywest’s 30 September 2024 account and a contemporaneous PerthNow report published on 1 October 2024.
How did he find out he had won?
When the man’s ticket was scanned at Nextra Forum West Newsagency, a message appeared that prompted the retailer to take him to a back room. He initially thought something was wrong; the retailer then discreetly told him he had won.
Lotterywest quoted him saying, “I went from thinking ‘oh no what have I done’ to absolute joy.” He also said he never won anything before and that the news opened up new possibilities, including a new car.

How did this win compare with the newsagency’s other prizes?
Lotterywest said the Mandurah ticket was one of two Saturday Lotto division one wins from that weekend. It also described the prize as the second division one win for Nextra Forum West Newsagency in the space of a week. The release did not identify the exact draw date or provide a full draw record, so neither should be inferred from the report.
What did Lotterywest report about WA wins in 2024?
In the same release, Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said that 47 Western Australian tickets had matched the numbers for division one prizes in 2024 year to date, sharing more than $63.7 million. This is a historical figure for 2024, not a current tally.
