Has the SSC GD 2024 application deadline passed?
Yes. SSC’s notice set 14 October 2024 at 23:00 as the last date and time to submit an online application. The separate deadline to pay the application fee online was 15 October 2024 at 23:00. SSC’s legacy application page now labels the 2024 application inactive.
The notice was published on 5 September 2024 and called the recruitment the Constable (GD) in CAPFs and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in NCB Examination-2025. “SSC GD 2024” is commonly used for the notification and application period; the examination notice itself uses 2025. What happened to the 26,146 vacancies?
26,146 was the initial figure, not the later reported total. On 13 June 2024, Hindustan Times reported that SSC had revised the total to 46,617. Treat 46,617 as a dated, reported revision rather than a verified final or current vacancy count: the available SSC vacancy listing does not expose the complete revised table here.

SSC’s vacancy portal indexes the tentative vacancy record for Constable GD 2024 and says it does not collect state-wise or zone-wise vacancies. Do not use the initial 26,146 figure as the later total or infer detailed allocations from it. How did the application and selection process work?
SSC stated that application forms would be accepted online only. The recruitment process comprised a computer-based examination (CBE), physical standard test (PST), physical efficiency test (PET), medical examination and document verification. Those steps describe the 2024 cycle; they are not a route to apply after its deadline.

Use SSC’s live notice board and the notice for the specific recruitment cycle. A later SSC notice covered the 2026 examination, with an application period of 1–31 December 2025; those dates belong to that cycle and do not establish that applications are open on 8 October 2026. Check SSC’s official website for current notices and deadlines before acting. Do not carry dates from the 2024 or 2026 notices into a different cycle.
