Only one part of SSC CGL 2024 was cancelled because of technical glitches: the Tier-II Typing Test (Data Entry Speed Test) conducted in Shift II on 18 January 2025. The Staff Selection Commission notice does not say that the entire CGL 2024 examination was cancelled, and the notice excerpt does not establish a replacement date for every affected candidate. Check SSC’s official notices and your candidate login for any instruction that applies to you.
What SSC cancelled
SSC’s Western Region notice says technical glitches were reported during the Tier-II Typing Test (Data Entry Speed Test) in Shift II on 18 January 2025, and that this specific test sitting was cancelled. The notice identifies a particular test, shift and date—not the whole Combined Graduate Level Examination 2024.

What the CGL 2024 timeline shows
SSC’s later option-cum-preference notice records that Tier I took place and its result was declared before the affected Tier-II typing-test sitting. It also gives the broader Tier-II exam dates. Those general dates do not, by themselves, tell an affected candidate when to retake the cancelled typing test.

How to check whether SSC has issued instructions for you
- Open the official SSC website and check its notices for CGL 2024 updates. The SSC Western Region site also publishes regional notices: sscwr.net.
- Sign in to your SSC candidate account and look for a candidate-specific message, admit-card information or schedule update relating to the cancelled Shift-II typing test.
- Follow the date and instructions in the latest official notice or your login. Do not treat the general Tier-II dates as confirmation of an individual replacement sitting.
What is not confirmed by the cancellation notice
The notice excerpt confirms cancellation of the specified typing-test sitting, but it does not establish a replacement date for every affected candidate. If you are affected, rely on a subsequent SSC notice or candidate-login instruction rather than an unverified date reported elsewhere.
SSC’s website also provides candidate resources, including previous-year question papers, syllabus, exam calendar and mock tests; these are separate from checking a schedule update. Visit SSC’s official website.
