Pakistan’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) reportedly proposed removing more than 200 dormant companies from its official records and invited objections. The reports describe an application and notice process—not a confirmed completion of the strike-off. The list of companies and their final status have not been verified in the available reporting.

What SECP reportedly proposed

ProPakistani reported on November 25, 2025, that SECP had published a list of more than 200 companies proposed for removal. TechJuice described the same broad process. The reported figure is attributed to SECP by ProPakistani; the underlying notice and company list were not independently available for verification. ProPakistani’s report and TechJuice’s report are secondary accounts.

How the reported process is described

Applications and declarations

The reports say the companies applied for removal under Section 426 of the Companies Act 2017 and the Companies Easy Exit Regulations 2014. They attribute to the companies’ chief executives and directors declarations that the companies were not carrying on business, had no assets or liabilities, and owed no dues to banks, financial institutions, government departments, utilities, or private parties. Auditors or practicing chartered accountants reportedly certified the declarations.

These are statements attributed to applications or notices, not independently confirmed facts about each company. The reports do not reproduce the statutory text, so they do not establish the detailed legal effect of the cited provisions.

Objections and the possible next step

Both reports describe a 90-day period from publication of a notice for objections or for cause to be shown. ProPakistani reports that, if no cause was shown, the companies’ names would be struck off and the companies treated as dissolved. The reports do not establish the publication date or response deadline for any individual notice.

What remains unconfirmed

The available reports do not establish whether objections were filed, whether SECP completed the strike-off, or whether any company-specific proceedings affected the outcome. The original SECP advertisement, the names on the notice list, and current registry entries were not available in the reports reviewed. As a result, this should be described as a reported proposal, not as proof that the companies have been dissolved.

Anyone checking a particular company should consult SECP advertisements and the company’s registry record for current status. A company named in a notice, or a person with a potential claim against it, may need advice from a Pakistani corporate lawyer or chartered accountant; the reports alone do not resolve an individual company’s legal position.
