The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) reported 3,881 new company registrations in January 2026. In a press release dated February 12, the regulator said 99.9% were completed online through its eZfile system.

What SECP reported for January

Alongside the 3,881 registrations, SECP reported cumulative paid-up capital of Rs. 8.4 billion among the new companies. That figure is paid-up capital—not company valuation, revenue, or proof that the full amount represents new foreign investment. SECP also said the nationwide total of registered companies reached 283,540 after these incorporations.

The release said 82 newly incorporated companies attracted investment from investors representing China, the United States, Afghanistan, Australia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Palau, South Africa, Albania, Denmark, Germany, Malaysia, South Korea, Spain, and Ukraine. It lists the countries but does not state investment amounts by country.

What kinds of companies were registered?

Private limited companies made up 59% of registrations, while single-member companies accounted for 38%. SECP said the remaining 3% comprised public unlisted companies, not-for-profit organizations, and limited liability partnerships. These percentages are the regulator’s rounded shares.

What the registration total does—and does not—show

The figures describe company incorporations recorded for January; they do not establish how many businesses began operating, created jobs, generated revenue, or remained active. The SECP release reports January 2026 results but does not provide a verified January 2025 comparison, so it cannot by itself support a year-over-year growth claim.
