That makes Rolex’s departure the practical implication of the change, but Formula 1’s announcement does not say when Rolex’s arrangement ended or why it changed.
What changed in Formula 1’s partnership?
On October 2, 2024, Formula 1 and LVMH announced a ten-year Global Partnership beginning in 2025. The initial announcement named three participating LVMH groups: Louis Vuitton, Moët Hennessy and TAG Heuer. It described plans for hospitality, bespoke activations, limited editions and content, without disclosing financial terms. Formula 1’s announcement and LVMH’s announcement establish the agreement’s duration and start year.
On January 6, 2025, Formula 1 announced that TAG Heuer would return as its Official Timekeeper for the 2025 season. F1’s wording confirms the appointment; it does not document Rolex’s contract terms or attribute the change to a decision by either company. Formula 1’s timekeeper announcement is the basis for identifying TAG Heuer as the successor in that role.
Which LVMH brands have roles in F1?
| Brand or group | F1 role and activity |
|---|---|
| TAG Heuer | Official Timekeeper from the 2025 season, with trackside branding and Fan Zone and Paddock Club activations. F1’s partner directory lists its Formula 1, Monaco and Carrera collections. |
| Louis Vuitton | Official Partner and title partner of the 2025 Australian Grand Prix; its trophy trunks were presented during podium celebrations. |
| Moët Hennessy / Moët & Chandon | Moët & Chandon was named Official Champagne. Moët Hennessy was involved in the cooldown room and podium ceremony. |
These are distinct partnership roles, not interchangeable forms of sponsorship. Formula 1’s Louis Vuitton announcement details the Australian race and trophy trunks; LVMH’s February 2025 announcement identifies Moët & Chandon as Official Champagne and TAG Heuer as Official Timekeeper.

What did the partnership look like in its first season?
In its December 8, 2025 retrospective, LVMH described Louis Vuitton trophy trunks at each Grand Prix, a TAG Heuer pit-lane clock and Moët Hennessy’s presence in the cooldown room and podium ceremony. LVMH said 2026 would be the partnership’s second season. LVMH’s first-season account describes these activations. Louis Vuitton had already made trophy trunks for Monaco from 2021 through 2024 through its partnership with the Automobile Club de Monaco, according to Formula 1.
Why did Rolex leave F1?
The official announcements cited here do not explain why Rolex is no longer the timekeeper, whether it chose to leave or whether its arrangement was not renewed, or the exact date its deal ended. The confirmed information is that TAG Heuer was named Official Timekeeper from the 2025 season. Any claim about Rolex’s motive or the negotiations would go beyond what these sources establish.

What is the deal worth?
The ten-year duration is public, but the cited announcements do not disclose the partnership’s financial value or Rolex’s prior deal value. Without attributable, comparable figures, a dollar comparison would be speculation; reported estimates should not be treated as confirmed contract terms.
