However, Delta’s published materials do not confirm that the first 757-200 overhaul has been completed or identify the aircraft. The announcement describes a planned rollout—not proof that a particular flight or tail number has the refreshed cabin.
What Delta announced about the new cabin
Delta’s October 2024 announcement described a design refresh featuring new seating materials, enhanced lighting, an updated color palette, decorative motifs, and refreshed branding. The airline said the design would first appear on a narrowbody 757 serving domestic and short-haul international routes, with an A350 to follow in early 2025 and additional aircraft to receive the design as schedules and operations allowed. Delta’s announcement does not name the first 757-200 or confirm when its work was finished.
Delta’s agency-facing release gives examples of features by cabin and aircraft type: a wool-and-nylon blend for Delta One seat fabric, updated covers in Delta Premium Select and First Class, memory-foam cushions for Comfort+ and Main Cabin on widebody aircraft, and mood lighting. Those examples should not be read as a promise that every feature applies to the 757-200. Delta’s release describes the broader design program.
What is—and is not—confirmed about completion
Delta’s later fleet-design update says the modern onboard design began rolling out in early 2025 and is planned for more than 800 aircraft over five years. That fleet-level target does not establish that the first 757-200 is complete, when it entered service, or which aircraft received the work. The 2024 announcement and the fleet-design update describe the program and rollout, but do not identify a completed 757-200.

How to check the cabin on your Delta 757-200 flight
Delta’s 757-200 fleet includes different submodels and cabin layouts. The airline’s aircraft information lists Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main for some submodels; model 75S lists Delta One, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main. The listed amenities include in-seat power and more than 1,000 hours of seatback entertainment. Delta’s 757-200 aircraft page provides model-specific information, but does not say all 757-200s have the new interior.
- Open the flight details for your specific itinerary and check the aircraft type or submodel shown.
- Review the seat map for that flight to see its cabin classes and seat layout.
- Look for a Delta notice or aircraft-specific confirmation of the new cabin; the general design announcement alone does not confirm the interior on your flight.
Aircraft assignments and configurations can differ, so a generic 757-200 description is not a guarantee about the cabin on an individual departure.

The redesign followed a four-year development effort
Delta said the cabin design effort took four years. Its behind-the-scenes account describes the Onboard Experience team working with engineering, maintenance, flight attendants, commercial teams, design firms, and other stakeholders. Delta’s October 28, 2024 account explains the process, but does not report passenger-comfort results from the first 757-200.

In January 2014, Delta announced a separate investment to refresh interiors on 757-200, 737-800, A319, and A320 aircraft through 2016. That earlier program is distinct from the design announced in 2024. Delta’s 2014 announcement describes the older investment.
